      The Curator and Manager of the UNO Art Gallery position works closely with the School of the Arts Director, the Art & Art History Gallery Committee, exhibiting artists, and the public in the execution of their various duties. The UNO Art Gallery is in the Weber Fine Arts Building and the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media (CFAM). As a public-facing entity of the School of the Arts (SoA) and CFAM, the Curator/Manager should strive to create a welcoming environment and must have strong personal, professional, event planning , time and management, and communication skills. While knowledgeable of best practices in this field, given the current state of higher education, this position requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. In consultation with the SoA Director and the Dean of CFAM, the Curator/Manager oversees the UNO Art Gallery's operations, budget, database, exhibition schedule, programming, promotions, and the permanent collection. The gallery schedule will be determined with the Gallery Committee and will reflect student and curricular needs and current artistic trends. The Curator/Manager will work with the Gallery Committee and SoA Director to determine procedures surrounding exhibitions, facilities management, art storage, operations, donations, and community partners. The person in this position will occasionally attend Art & Art History faculty meeting to report on gallery business. The Gallery Curator/Manager hires, trains, and manages student workers and maintains gallery financial records. Working with CFAM's Communication Specialist, they will also provide content for the Gallery's promotional materials. This position works with other SoA units in hosting events in the Gallery space.
