      Job Summary:

      - Provide excellent customer service and be the central point of contact for the company's Customer Contact Operations Center.
      - Utilize customer information systems to answer inquiries regarding billing, payment, credit, rates, and service requests.
      - Input residential and commercial customer account information and generate service order requests.
      - Assist customers with credit difficulties and termination notices, negotiate payment plans, and make appropriate referrals for additional assistance.
      - Determine and document security deposits for new accounts and promote and explain programs available to customers.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:

      - 0-2 years of Customer Contact Operations experience.
      - Basic interpersonal/communication skills in person, by phone, and in writing.
      - Ability to retrieve items alphabetically/numerically and basic typing skills.
      - Knowledge of computers including Customer Information Systems and Microsoft Office products.
      - Basic understanding of organization/department/section policies and procedures.
      - Ability to read, concentrate, listen, and deal with irate and difficult customers.
      - Ability to identify and resolve basic and routine issues and basic organization/time management skills.
      - Basic understanding of billing, rates, credit, energy usage, and customer accounts.
      - Ability to work varying shifts, nights, weekends, and during emergency situations.

      Education Requirements:

      - High School diploma or GED required.
      - Associate degree in related discipline may be required or 2+ years of additional relevant experience in lieu of degree preferred.

      Working Conditions:

      - Office Work Environment: 76-100%.
      - Travel: Up to 25%.
