What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and resolve guarantor account balances through various communication methods
- Provide timely and accurate responses to patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance issues
- Document all patient interactions and account actions in assigned billing systems
- Coordinate with other departments and external entities to resolve complex billing issues
- Maintain high standards of customer service while adhering to HIPAA guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in customer service or collections in a healthcare setting strongly desired
- Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required
- Knowledge of Epic billing systems preferred
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment in resolving issues
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree preferred but not required
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processing
- Experience handling a high volume of calls in a customer service environment
- Previous training in medical billing or collections
- Background in financial assistance policies and patient support services
