Job Description
- Req#: 372365
We are looking for a software development intern to contribute to our research activities by applying modern web technologies and data collection approaches to the field of cybersecurity monitoring with a focus on buildings hosting Industrial Control Systems (ICS). In this role, you will support developing and evaluating the user journeys for Security Operation Center (SOC) analysts supporting the manufacturing facility manager with efficient and effective detection and response to cyber incidents. As an intern in this project, you will be responsible for supporting the development of new designs and will implement code as proof of concept to illustrate the integration of novel SOC analyst user journeys into an existing environment.
As a Cybersecurity Development Intern, you will develop monitoring solutions at the edge focused on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of SOC analysts. You will be defining meaningful presentation of data and alerts based on the security monitoring of a building environment. You will support the design of data augmentation and the presentation and access of data correlation results to allow an analyst to understand a situation quickly and to make the right decisions fast. You will work with high-fidelity simulation and lab-emulated data to perform the research in close collaboration with domain experts in the field of OT security, data scientists, and developers. In addition, you will learn about general concepts and methods powering a SOC, understand security telemetry, data sources and the overall software architecture of data management systems in the Industrial facilities domain.
You will work in collaboration with a senior developer on site to prototype and implement selected designs using edge virtualization technologies to implement monitoring and aggregation at the edge. This task will be jointly performed in collaboration with other team members including data scientists, security experts, and software developers to enable integration of the solution with 3rd party application for reporting. The goal of the project is to develop a user-friendly tool to explore and navigate in the data-rich domain of buildings hosting ICS. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with an outstanding development team focusing on a unique market approach for data exploration in ICS.
