Opportunity

DeVry University’s College of Engineering & Information Sciences invites applications for a full-time Faculty Chair (Professor) position in Cybersecurity. This role is pivotal for advancing our cutting-edge cybersecurity programs, which focus on innovation and practical application. Our curriculum is designed with input from industry experts and includes hands-on assignments using the latest technologies. Faculty members benefit from a collaborative environment that includes real-world experience, individual and team-based learning opportunities. Experience with using and or managing a cyber range preferred.

Responsibilities

A newly hired candidate will join DVU with disciplinary expertise and professional experience in cybersecurity, an aptitude for teaching/training, and the capability for productive collaboration across the cyber community and our external partners. The position is a mix of teaching and curriculum development responsibilities with an emphasis on industry experience and knowledge. The successful candidate for this position will hold a master’s or Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Network Technology, or a closely related field

Qualifications

Required

• A master’s or Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Network Technology, or a closely related field.
• Security Operations Center (SOC) experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant cybersecurity experience in a professional setting and role, such as security operations center, data center operations and cloud services.
• Strong information technology background with understanding of cloud services & technologies, networking, and data engineering.
• Proven expertise in data security, penetration testing, incident response, and related cybersecurity domains.
• Experience with governance, compliance, and auditing processes and regulations.
• Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
• At least one relevant cybersecurity certification.

Preferred:

• CCSP, CISSP, CEH, CySA+, or equivalent industry certifications.
• Experience with programmatic and regional accreditation processes.
• Active membership and engagement in industry societies and professional organizations.
• Knowledge of cyber security training platforms, such as a cyber range.

Certifications of Interest:

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator, Advanced Networking, or Security
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (MSCAF), Azure Developer Associate (MSCADA)
• CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
• PenTest+ (CompTIA PenTest+)
• DataSys+ (Certified Data Security Professional)
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
• Cloud+ (Comptia Cloud Computing)
• CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
• CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
• SEC+ (CompTIA Security+)

Salary 110-115k
