Work with both internal and external stakeholders to identify optimal report visualisation e.g., dashboard, chart, report, tabular, filters, selection options and subsequently build.
Present information contained in reports and visualisations to stakeholders in easily accessible language.
Assisting with the design and development of ETL processes to enable smooth and efficient information flows for reporting.
Developing and maintaining semantic data models based around star schema design principles.
Crafting and executing queries upon request for data creation and build out of operational insight reports.
Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation relating to data definitions and organisation data dictionary.
Support ongoing work to improve the data quality across the organisation.
Highlight potential areas where automation and efficiency gains could improve information flow.
Update domain knowledge by continuously researching and evaluating market solutions and tools, participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
Apply design and data analysis techniques to organize the presentation of data in impactful ways in order to make it easier to understand, insightful, and actionable by end users.
Plan own workload to ensure that tasks are met.
Prioritise workload with consideration to issues arising and responding to shifting priorities appropriately.
Actively participate in regular supervision with line manager and the PUK PDR process for maintaining and developing personal skills and meeting agreed objectives.
The post holder will attend online training as relevant to the post including mandatory training courses i.e. Information Governance, safeguarding, Health and Safety courses etc

- Experience creating database objects such as views, stored procedures and custom functions to process data flows pre-presentation in the reporting layer.

- Experience with version control of code objects and documentation, GitHub preferred.
- Experience of NHS data flows preferred but not essential.
- Experience developing or maintaining technical data documentation such as data dictionary, data definition or calculation specifications.
- Exposure to Python programming for data acquisition and transformation
- Redash experience would be beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to proactively research solutions and best practices.

Main duties of the job
As a Data Analyst, you will be a key part of a team transforming data and developing Data Visualisation and Reporting solutions for internal Technical and Business Partners. Reporting into the Senior Data Analyst, the role is a great opportunity for an experienced data analyst to contribute to the ongoing development of the data management team in a fast paced environment at a very exciting time in the companys growth.
The role will be home based but could be required to attend various meeting locations as and when required. The role will also adhere to the flexitime principles for PUK.
