      The Data Analyst – IoT & Digital Commercialization position will be responsible for the development of advanced IoT data analytics used for measuring compressed air system performance, identifying key customer/market insights, and overseeing the deployment of IoT data analytics across commercial business processes. IoT and Digitization are key growth initiatives for Ingersoll Rand. Seeking a highly skilled data analyst who is willing to collaborate with many cross-functional teams across the organization to accelerate customer and commercial value from IoT analytics. This role will have great exposure across the organization by being involved in many corporate and regional IoT growth initiatives.

      The Data Analyst will help define standard data requirements for Controls, IoT, Customer Accounts, and digital user experiences. Create metrics and write algorithms within the cloud-based IoT platform which will be used to measure the real-time and lifecycle performance of customers’ IoT-connected compressed air systems. These IoT metrics will help customers and service providers track the compressed air system performance, such as; air quality, uptime, reliability, energy efficiencies, maintenance needs, and more. The data analyst will partner with software development teams to embed the IoT performance metrics, reports, and dashboards into digital user experiences and internal commercial processes.

      This position will report to Product Portfolio Leader – Controls, Digital, & IoT within the Americas Product Management Organization. The candidate should have an understanding of business/commercial processes and a strong skill set in data analytics, database management, and data integrations.

      Responsibilities:

      • Define customer account and digital twin data requirements across IoT, CRM, and ERP platforms for enabling scalable user experiences and data analytics.
      • Partner with IT and Corporate Data Analytic teams to ensure data sets are in enterprise warehouse for tableau reporting and dashboard development.
      • Define all IoT data analytics use cases; customer experiences, service/sales commercialization, and enterprise market insights.
      • Partner with the organization to implement data governance framework and data change control processes for ERP, IoT, and CRM.
      • Define and document formulas for performance metrics and algorithms.
      • Work with engineering to write and implement machine performance algorithms using python code or other software languages within the IoT platform.
      • Use open source cloud tools to connect external open data sets for market analytics and improved user experiences, such as; location weather, macro industry finance/economic,
      • Use BI tools to develop IoT reports and dashboards, such as; Snowflake, Google GCP, Tableau, Salesforce CRM analytics, and more.
      • Work with Demand Generation teams to implement IoT insights into the CRM lead flow process to generate opportunity pipeline for aftermarket, service, or machine sales.
      • Review market insights from analysis with commercial leaders to target customer base and work with Product Management to create new aftermarket, services, & IoT offerings.


      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • 3+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or Business Analytics.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Systems. Or an acceptable data science program graduate.
      • Strong technical background in data analytics, data sciences, database management, and data integrations.
      • Familiar with machine controls/IoT datasets and protocols; Modbus, MQTT, etc.
      • Experience with cloud databases, ERP systems, and CRM systems; Google GCP, AWS, Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, and more.
      • Experience using business intelligence tools for data analytics; SQL Studio, Snowflake, Tableau cloud, and Salesforce Analytics.
      • Ability to review and write software code within cloud databases for developing IoT analytics algorithms. Software languages; Python, R, SQL, Java, HTML, etc.
      • Experience with middleware tools for managing data integrations and data flow between databases and user applications. ELT and API.
      • Understanding of commercial business processes for generating customer engagement and revenues; demand gen for lead creation and opportunity pipeline, sales customer account management, service management, and engagement with channel partners.
      • Ability to effectively communicate data insights to customers, commercial sales/service teams, channel partners, and executive leaders.
      • Experience with Salesforce development.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Office

      Remote Work & Travel Requirements

      • Fully remote or in office at Davidson, NC.
      • Travel – 10% or less. If remote, require the ability to travel into the office 1-2 time per annual quarter for team workshops and meetings with manager.
