The Data Analyst position will work in the Data Analytics team within the Office of the Provost at the University of Pittsburgh.

The Data Analyst will perform data analysis and create both static and dynamic reports and dashboards for senior leaders, including deans, vice provosts, and associate deans. The Data Analyst will prepare a variety of regular as well as ad-hoc reports and dashboards. The Data Analyst will also work on automating current data extraction and data cleaning processes. The Data Analyst will provide data support to people within the Office of the Provost.

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, Business Information Systems, Data Sciences, Statistics, or related field. Three years of experience in database management, business intelligence, or information technology, or some combination of related experience and graduate education required.

Evaluates business requirements and performs moderately advanced data integration and analysis. Develops moderately advanced analytical and reporting tools utilizing integrated data. Provides technical support.

· The Data Analyst works on developing and implementing programs to design, create, and manage large and complex datasets from multiple sources.

· Under the supervision of the Senior Data Analyst, the Data Analyst will develop new reports and dashboards for senior leaders, including deans, vice provosts, and associate deans.

· The Data Analyst updates and upgrades existing dashboards and reports.

· The Data Analyst works on submitting data to the AAUDE and benchmarking against peers and other universities using AAUDE data.

· The Data Analyst must be able to work within a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.

· The Data Analyst must demonstrate ability and desire to acquire new knowledge and skills.

· The incumbent must have experience with workflow tools (e.g., Alteryx), query writing (e.g., SQL, Cognos), relational databases (e.g., Access), data visualization software (e.g., Tableau), and statistical programming languages (e.g., SPSS, R).
