      Summary

Do you believe Machine Learning and AI can change the world? Would you like to contribute to the field of generative AI? Want to contribute to transforming how people interact with AI technologies? The System Intelligence and Machine Learning (SIML) group at Apple is responsible for building high quality ML datasets at scale, used to train ML models that power AI-centric features for many Apple products (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and even AirPods). Such features as the smart wallpaper on your iPhone Lock Screen, the models that highlight the faces of your loved ones in your Photos app, or input experiences (eg autocorrect, next word prediction, handwriting recognition). We are looking for a talented individual to lead Data Annotation projects and closely collaborate with our R&D partners to drive the end-to-end data annotations projects and help SIML create the next key features for our users!

      Key Qualifications

      • Exhibits excellent project management, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
      • Experience leading data operations powering generative AI models, and/or experience in designing and running operations targeting the collection of human feedback
      • Passion for creating phenomenal products and understanding the challenges associated with building datasets for machine learning features; while addressing the challenges of inclusion, bias removal, and fairness
      • Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement (improving the quality of labels, reducing time to delivery and cost)
      • Capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects in parallel while meeting deadlines, and maintaining clear and effective communication with stakeholders
      • Understanding of applied machine learning concepts

      Description

This includes: - Collaborate with R&D partners to fully understand their data needs and requirements - Participate in the selection of assets to be included in the dataset, define necessary tooling, and establish the annotation workflow, platform, and crowd to be used - Integrate ML models (including generative) into annotation workflows to automate or reduce the cost of projects - Create plugins to optimize data annotation workflows using javascript/html/css - Establish guidelines and training material, as well as determine a range for time per task - Work closely with privacy, legal, procurement, and product security - Fully scope project, determining the timeline for completion, the overall cost, and account for any potential obstacles that may arise - Calibrate the task with the vendor and track and report on quantities and quality delivered
