With a culture of recognition and reputation for excellence, ELS is the ideal organization in which to develop a long and successful career!

ELS is hiring for the position of Data Entry and Quality Assurance in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Founded in 1987, MHVillage/Datacomp is a subsidiary of ELS and a national leader in the manufactured housing industry based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our business units include MHVillage.com, the largest online marketplace for manufactured housing with more than $3 billion in home sales and rental transactions annually; Datacomp Appraisal Systems, the nation’s leading provider of market-based manufactured home valuation and inspection services; Datacomp/JLT, the most trusted source for market data on the manufactured housing asset class; and the MHInsider magazine, the industry’s trade publication for manufactured housing professionals. Datacomp is looking to fill an open position in our Data Entry and Quality Assurance department.

We are looking for someone who is not just interested in their next paycheck but is interested in starting a career with a company that values intelligence, a strong work-ethic, and reliability. The work can be challenging. You will be expected to work 40 hours a week and learn all about an industry that you probably never even considered previously. Who are we and what do we do? Glad you asked! Our organization has multiple business units in a niche asset class of the overall real estate market: manufactured housing. It’s not particularly well-known or glamorous. But our industry makes homeownership possible for over 20 million Americans, and we find that pretty satisfying. We’re a stable and financially secure company based in Michigan, however, our company offers services and products nationwide. So what does our Data Entry/Quality Analysis team do? A lot. One of our core business units is Datacomp Appraisal which specializes in appraising manufactured homes and providing lenders, insurance companies, buyers, and sellers with market based appraisals on the homes they are financing, insuring, buying, or selling.

We have a national network of over 550 men and women who physically go out to the homes being appraised and they complete an onsite inspection of the home. Their photos and paperwork are then uploaded to our website where our DE/CQ team reviews the information, enters it into our appraisal software system, performs a quality control check and sends it along to our appraisal team who then writes up the appraisal report. I’d love to say that this is an easy job but I’d be lying. Not all of our field inspectors have great penmanship so sometimes we have to decipher and decode the notes they have written. We may have to call them or email them to get some answers before we can proceed. You will get to play detective by looking at the home photos and seeing if you can fill in some of the missing information based on what you see. Google maps and real estate listings come in very handy when trying to verify inspector submitted data.

Our appraisal team currently has 27 wonderful people filling the positions of appraisers, customer service, and data entry and quality assurance. We are looking to add another smart and reliable individual to our staff in the coming weeks.

      Qualifications:

      ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This helps you provide training to our field inspectors in order to assist them in properly filling out their paperwork.

      ● Problem-solver with a can-do attitude.

      ● Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and understand new information, processes, and systems.

      ● Consistent record of punctuality and reliable attendance, demonstrating the ability to adhere to assigned work schedules and arrive on time.

      ● Ability to work 40 hours a week, five 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday.

      ● Must be 18+ years of age.

      ● Must pass a background check.

      ● Proficiency with GMail, including Google Sheets and Docs.

      Working Conditions:

      ● Onsite training in our office for the first several weeks. Our goal is to allow you the option of work-from-home once you have the skills to succeed and have demonstrated the ability to work independently.

      ● In order to work remotely you would need a functional home office setting with reliable internet.

      ● Be available via computer, video conferencing, and phone during business hours.

      ● Opportunity to work in a hybrid model (on-site and remote), for candidates in the Grand Rapids, MI area.

In return for your excellent skills and abilities, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, and vision plans, a generous 401(k) employer match, and paid vacations, holidays, and sick time.

We invite you to visit our web site at www.equitylifestyleproperties.com for additional information regarding our exceptional resort communities.

As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we welcome and thank all applicants.
