      Data Scientist II will perform complex analyses requiring combinations of potentially large datasets and machine learning techniques. Consult with business units to identify opportunities for revenue generation, cost reduction, and improved compliance. Identify internal and external data sources required to deliver solutions to apply to those opportunities. Manipulate raw data to create useful feature sets. Use machine learning techniques to analyze data and develop business insights and recommendations. Present findings to business unit stakeholders in a way that facilitates action and improvement in business performance. Use DevOps and MLOps techniques to automate solutions and ensure quality. Present data through engaging presentations and visualizations capable of use by stakeholders. Continuously improve technical and business skills through experience, education, and certification.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:

      • Data acquisition and wrangling to produce useful features.
      • Forecasting, statistical, and machine learning analyses
      • Business and financial analysis
      • General telecommunications engineering
      • Verbal, written, and interactive presentation of data, conclusions, and recommendations.
      • Provide support with development of requirements for new initiatives and products that require new Network capabilities. Requirements include system design, standards compliance, availability targets, operating performance metrics, operational support, and staff training.

      Additional Job Requirements:

      This is an intermediate level position for an experienced working engineer. The DS2 has demonstrated proficiency in data science project work and has successfully delivered basic but impactful solutions to stakeholders. The DS2 is assigned to projects but can also identify the need for additional ones. The DS2 can work with general project guidance and solicits support on an as-needed basis. The DS2 is a capable and improving communicator who can develop solutions requirements from stakeholder interviews and can present findings effectively. DS2s are expected to collaborate with data engineering and IT architecture to deliver solutions and analysis. The DS2 is responsible for delivering a significant amount of business value. DS2s must be highly proficient in cloud computing, database, machine learning, pipeline management, and data visualization.

      • Independent data acquisition and wrangling
      • Independent analysis, model development, and pipeline development

      Additional Competencies:

      • Proficient in Databricks/Spark, PowerBI, Azure Data Factory, Git, SciKit Learn, TensorFlow
      • Advanced ability in mathematics, statistics, and machine learning
      • Able to complete projects with minimal oversight and guidance.
      • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proficient in a broad range of engineering, business, and marketing topics

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Required:

      • High School diploma or equivalent.
      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science and Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
      • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in data science, data engineering, or other engineering/analytic positions that require a combination of coding and business analysis.
      • Certifications required prior to completion of twelve (12) months in assignment: AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.

      Preferred:

      • Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science and Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
      • Completion of DP-100 Designing and Implementing a Data Science Solution on Azure or an equivalent course.
      • Telecommunications experience.
      • Other telecom industry or job specific certifications.

      DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

      • This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.
      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:
      • Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
      • Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
      • Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
      • Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
      • Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
      • Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.
      • Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
      • Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.

Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to an immediate emergency.
