Summary/Objective
As an Ingo Payments Data Scientist, you will be part of an exciting, dynamic,
and growing team that delivers risk mitigation solutions and expertise that
has a direct impact on Ingo Payments strategic objectives and profitability.
We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML expert Data Scientist with expertise in
image modeling and generative AI to enhance and automate our risk
processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing machine
learning models for image recognition, fraud detection, and document
verification within financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for image processing, including OCR, signature verification, and fraud detection.
• Work with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) to build image recognition solutions for financial transactions.
• Develop real-time image verification algorithms to detect forged or tampered checks.
• Optimize model performance for speed and accuracy in check cashing workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models into financial platforms and mobile applications.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and security standards in AI-driven check processing.
• Research and apply the latest advancements in AI, deep learning, and computer vision for financial fraud prevention.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related discipline required
• Minimum 1 years’ experience with image processing and computer vision techniques.
• Expertise in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other ML frameworks.
• Knowledge of fraud detection methodologies in financial transactions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with R or Python

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of statistical concepts; coursework in statistics preferred
• Intermediate SQL skills required
• Ability to communicate and tailor complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner required
• Experience working in FinTech, banking, or payments processing.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to financial transactions and AI.
