      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience; OR Master's degree and 6+ years of experience. Additional four (4) relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
      • 4+ years of data management experience, preferably with a software or system engineering background.
      • Experience working with agency, aerospace, or defense industry customer systems, sensors, and data formats.
      • Must have experience in communicating with all levels of management.
      • This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request- contract requires TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
      • Experience with AWS RDS Aurora PostgreSQL, including creating and managing parameter and option groups, and monitoring database health using AWS-native tools

      • Strong understanding of PostgreSQL roles and privileges, with experience enabling and monitoring database auditing and reviewing logs to identify issues and maintain baseline performance

      • Proficient in database performance tuning: analyzing top queries, identifying slow queries, recommending indexing strategies, and monitoring autovacuum activity

      • Skilled in managing backup, restore, and recovery operations, including regular monitoring of backups and quarterly testing of restore/recovery procedures

      Desired Qualifications:

      • Capable of handling routine data exports and migrations using tools such as AWS S3 and PostgreSQL COPY, and maintaining data health by managing table bloat and vacuum statistics

      • Experienced in collaborating with development teams on advanced SQL techniques, schema design, and query optimization

      • Able to maintain technical documentation, including database description documents and supporting updates to related documentation

      • Advanced familiarity with PostgreSQL documentation and community resources; strong SQL skills; moderate proficiency in PL/pgSQL; general proficiency in Bash and Python scripting

      Peraton has a great opportunity for a Database Manager / Administrator in Chantilly, VA supporting an Intelligence Community(IC) customer.

You will be working in a rewarding, mission focused environment, cutting edge software design, development, and deployment, contributing to the protection and defense of national space assets. Your efforts will fundamentally change what Space Domain Awareness and Mission Protection means for our Nation. Skyfire is a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system. Its purpose is to establish a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), find RSOs of interest, and provide data to ground operators. Located in Chantilly, VA, the Skyfire team uses sensor modeling, and systems engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system. This position requires a minimum of an active TS clearance.

      What you’ll do:

      The person in this role will work with program office stakeholders, senior architects, and partners to ensure quality data inputs and usage aligning with government and company standards. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player who understands how to effectively and independently drive timely and accurate support of the IMS, using MS Project.We are seeking a critical thinker with expertise in data management best practices and compliance.
