- Fosters an organizational climate that embraces and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values of Palmer College of Chiropractic.
- Provides leadership to students and staff to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained in support of academic programs.
- Represents Palmer College at the local and national level by engaging in networking and educational opportunities and promoting the reputation of the College in a positive way.
- Oversight of the Student Information System.
- Supervises the operation of the Registrar’s Office.
- Supervises the operation of the Student Academic Support Services.
- Supervises administration of student accommodations.
- Supervises the operation of the Bitner Recreation Center.
- Supervises College clubs, fraternities/sororities, recreational sports, and club sports.
- Supervises the Center for Business Development and career services.
- Oversees College events (graduation, orientation, etc.).
- Effectively communicates with faculty, students, staff, administrators, and external communities.
- Determines division metrics and outcomes.
- Oversee division informatics for meaningful data output.
- Recruits, mentors, develops, and retains model employees.
- Regularly reviews college and division policies for effectiveness.
- Examine and interpret institutional data.
- Oversee the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve student performance in Palmer’s academic programs.
- Provide reports and maintains performance dashboards for the College Provost.
- Work with Institutional Effectiveness to determine, monitor and effect change to division outcomes.
- Work closely with the Academic Affairs for continuity in student education.
- Work closely with the other divisions (e.g., Admissions, CTL, Security, Libraries, Clinic Affairs, Advancement, etc.) in support of College programs.
- Leads strategic planning and strategic plan implementation for Student Affairs.
- Oversees the budgeting process for Student Affairs.
- Ensures compliance with College policy and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Reviews and responds to legal concerns or requests regarding Student Affairs.
- Service
- Serve on committees as assigned or as designated by College policy.
- Serve as a designated college official in the Student Ethics process.
- Performs all responsibilities in a manner that fully complies with Palmer’s Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate degree in higher education (doctoral degree preferred)
- Minimum five (5) years of established administrative or management experience in student affairs is required
- Additional education/training/experience in analytics/SIS management is preferred. A successful candidate should expect to pursue additional training.
- Analytical Skills: employs analytical capabilities to assess staff performance, analyze policies, & develop plans.
- Leadership Skills: can identify talent, manage people and processes, and represent the College as senior leader to internal and external audiences.
- Communication Skills: can influence others, manage conflicts, and promote change effectively, while applying excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Delegation: due to the large number of tasks that come under the purview of the Dean, can allocate duties effectively and monitor outcomes frequently.
- Persuasiveness: can make compelling arguments for strategic initiatives, for resources, and for support of the Board of Trustees.
