      Your role in the team

      The Decision Modeler is responsible for creating, testing and maintaining decision models of moderate complexity which accurately capture the rules for the decisions that make up specific product offerings whilst adhering to decision architecture guidelines.

      In the Decision Modeling team we create logical arguments using a 3rd party software web based application to interpret State insurance underwriting rules and requirements that are ultimately used in determining if we will write the business.

      Please note this position is for a 9 month fixed term contract, maternity cover. There is potential for the position to be extended and/or made permanent based on business needs and performance.

      The successful applicant will undergo a comprehensive Decision Modeling onboarding and training program. This will ensure our newest team member has the necessary core competencies and skills required to be successful in the Decision Modeling role within our growing Decision Modeling team here at ANI.

      Responsibilities

      • Create and maintain DM models as per directed by technical designs provided by Decision Analysts.
      • Validate the accuracy of decision models both by adhering to decision architecture guidelines and constructing the test cases necessary to compare expected results with actual results.
      • Use the DM testing facility to ensure the meaningful and accurate generation of decision messaging.
      • Partnering with your fellow Decision Modelers, Analysts, Architects, Glossary Admin, Product and Business Owners eliciting the logic driving the business decisions, modeling, validating, testing, deploying, and integrating the logic.
      • Liaising with Glossary Administrator to ensure that all Fact Types meet the strict naming conventions set out in Allstate’s GA code of practice.
      • Participating in peer, architect, and business owner model reviews.
      • Participate in daily team catchup calls and record project progress in the team Kanban board.

      So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

      • Applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy,
      • At least 1 years’ Software Development or relevant IT experience; AND
      • At least 1 years’ Pricing or Underwriting experience.

      The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate a high degree of competence in the following:

      • Proven ability to influence others and lead change
      • Strong logic, written and oral communication skills
      • Organized, responsive and highly thorough problem solver

      We also have some desirable criteria

      • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools
      • Degree level qualification (any discipline)
