      Here at Collins Maintenance Repair and Overhaul UK facility in Marston Green, we provide specialist technical support for Electronic Engine Control, Fuel Metering units, Actuators and Pump units widely used in the Aerospace industry.

      Position Summary:

      Our business desires to develop the next generation of engineers and technicians. As such, we are delighted to be recruiting for 2x Engineering Apprentices that will form part of our 2024 cohort. We offer a comprehensive 4-year apprenticeship programme on a full-time basis with the possibility of securing permanent employment at the end. The apprenticeship will be delivered in collaboration with a local university such as Aston, Warwick or Coventry. The course studied will be determined based on the successful candidates experience but will be one of the following:

      • Mechanical Engineering

      • Electronic Engineering

      • Materials Science/Science

      • Other equivalent course

      Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship experience and qualification, you will have the opportunity to become a fully qualified Engineer which means you will be accountable for support of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) Engineering activities at Marston Green and other Collin’s or 3rd Party MRO’s, covering problem resolution and improvements for existing processes, and introduction of new equipment plus methodology analysis and continuous improvement.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Duties include but are not limited to:

      • Completing all university work on time and to a high standard

      • Shadowing employees to learn our processes

      • Act in a safe & responsible manner at all times

      • Actively engage with and implement improvements

      • Participating in any training courses required by the company

      • Develop knowledge to draft detailed Investigation reports correlating in-service failures with MRO findings

      • Identify accurately potential failure modes, where applicable root cause of failure and remedial action

      • Learn to support the management of component obsolescence

      • Provide technical assistance to business improvement project initiatives

      Essential Criteria:

      • A-Level or similar level qualification with an Engineering background

      • Highly self-motivated and computer literate

      • Understanding of Engineering principles

      • Be able to write and interpret technical reports

      • Effective communication skills

      Desirable Criteria:

      • A keen interest in Aerospace and/or Engineering

      • A strong willingness to learn

      • Ability to work with other people as part of a team

      • Able to follow detailed technical instructions/documentation

      • Good Microsoft Office skills

      This position may involve access to export-controlled information and hardware where an export license would be required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
