Job Summary:
At a glance
Working location - This is a hybrid working role. Your time will be split
between working from home and the London/Bracknell Head Office. You will
primarily be able to choose your working location preference e.g.
predominantly from home, however, there will also be an expectation to visit
the London/Bracknell office or other locations as the need arises.
Working pattern/flexible working - Although the role is full time, we are fully
open to considering part time and/or flexible working options. Please state
your preference in your application and discuss this with the Hiring Manager
at the interview stage.
Salary range - The salary range for this role is set at £55,800 - £90,000
Contract type - This is a permanent role.
What's the role about?
We have exciting opportunities for talented Agile Delivery Leads to join the John Lewis Partnership.
You will be working within one of our Agile delivery teams across either John Lewis or Waitrose,
where we continue to make significant investment in developing our technology capabilities, skills
and underpinning technologies. We have a strong in-house engineering capability which has been at
the heart of our move onto a cloud-hosted micro-service orientated platforms to exceed our
customer expectations and deliver to our Partnership Plan.
Working with Product Managers and Engineering teams, you will be instrumental in taking products
from their conception through to implementation, utilising your passion for delivery and technology.
You will have an excellent understanding of agile frameworks and how to define and deliver solutions
interactively and collaboratively in order to achieve business outcomes and value.
What you'll be doing as a Delivery Lead
As an experienced Delivery Lead, you will be confident and resilient and thrive in a high paced
environment, with a focus on quality, ensuring the delivery aligns with the needs of the business,
whilst also being supportable and maintainable.
● Driving our product delivery through working closely with Product and Engineering to
release value as early as possible.
● Work collaboratively with the teams to release software to Production in a regular and
controlled manner, ensuring it is monitored, and helping the team plan for issues which may
arise from changes to the software.
● Have a curiosity and understanding of the technology stacks the team are developing in
order to add value to decision making in the team.
● Facilitate agile events and champion agile best practice, coaching and mentoring the team
utilising key metrics to provide predictability and high performing teams.
● Quickly surface challenges, working with the team to resolve impediments so that they can
focus on delivering value iteratively
What you'll have or are working towards
We believe that each Delivery Lead is individual and promote people to bring new experiences and
ways of doing things to the role, although it would be great if you have some of the following:
● Passion for building and developing high performing, cross functional, digital teams.
● Deep understanding of Retail IT Delivery in a lean and agile environment
● Understanding of cloud and microservice technology
● Working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Lean and DevOps frameworks.
