Job Description

- You'll work closely with engineer managers, co-ordinating delivery across a number of engineering teams in order to realise key business outcomes
- You'll partner with engineering teams and key stakeholders to deliver new products or complex changes, utilising appropriate delivery methodology, including ways of working
- Plan significant deployments across a number of products, ensuring relevant dependencies are identified and managed
- Create and maintain roll-out schedules, track progress, always ensuring key stakeholders are kept up-to-date and risks & issues are appropriately managed
- Spot and surface key risks and issues early, building an effective approach to mitigation, securing support of stakeholders as and when necessary
- Coach others to help them understand the rationale for a technical approach, surfacing and dealing with ambiguity and conflicting demands
- Conduct post implementation reviews to drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that learning is fed through the wider Tech approach to delivery
- Actively contribute to the Delivery Practice, supporting the creation and implementation of a career framework and community
- Strong understanding and certified in Agile Methodology
- Proven experience in software or/ and Agile project delivery.
- Confident communicating with cross functional teams, organisation, and time zones.
- Understanding of project budgets and how to manage them.
- Experience tracking projects and team progress.
- Strong people skills, able to build relationships and get people on board.
- Able to participate in technical detail, where needed, showing an understanding of the technical landscape and can describe technical choices and trade-offs to different stakeholders within and outside of Tech
This role is Hybrid and will require the successful candidate to work from the Coventry office 1-2 days every 2 weeks.

Your Mission at Sainsbury’s Tech
As a Delivery Manager, you will lead and support the delivery of transformational work across Teams and across Sainsburys Tech at large, corralling the work of developer teams for a timely and effective delivery of value. The team is currently supporting the broader company on improving its FinOps posture, as well as conducting strategic PaaS migrations, activities which will welcome the support of this role.

As Delivery Manager, you'll be a leading force within your engineering team and across the wider business, driving forward and delivering changes and enhancements to our products at pace. This includes some of our most exciting programmes, delivered across multiple teams and spanning the breadth of our multi-channels and multi-brands.
You'll plan, lead and co-ordinate team activity and engage third parties on product and change projects that often require the highest level of thinking. Insightful, trusted and tenacious, you'll navigate the complexity and challenges that come with delivering at pace and build strong relationships with colleagues within your domain and across the organisation.
