      The Delta One VP Trader is a position responsible for overseeing a trading book and managing book risk, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure book trades deliver on budgeted revenues, and to coordinate with key stakeholders to develop the trading franchise.

      Responsibilities:

      • Responsibility for a trading book, with the prime objective of generating revenues and managing risk for the Equities Delta One business.

      • This role will have a focus on index derivatives (MSCI) and the successful candidate will have the mandate to grow and develop the Citi franchise for this book.

      • Coordinate with Sales, Research and other organizations across Markets and Securities Services as well as the broader business.

      • Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver trades to the desk.

      • Anticipate client demand in each respective product/market.

      • Coordinate with desk analysts as needed and with sales to develop the franchise.

      • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.

      • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.

      • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services

      • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.

      • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

      Qualifications:

      • Must have a working knowledge of Delta One products such as Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), Equity Swaps and Exchange Traded Notes among others.

      • Must have experience of having Traded Equities on a flow desk and understand Index products. Required licensing and registrations as applicable.

      • Advance analytical and numerical competency

      • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

      • Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

      • Ability to analyse and pitch situations and determine suitable counterparties.

      • Knowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

      • Master’s degree preferred.

      Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime.

      The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016.

      In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above.

      This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
