What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide chairside dental assistance and support services in an institutional dental clinic
- Maintain records, process radiographs, and prepare molds and models
- Clean and sterilize dental equipment and provide patients with care instructions
- Manage appointments, patient records, and inventory
- Stay current on dental assisting practices, materials, and office procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ability to perform dental assistant procedures, including chairside assistance
- Experience in filing and using a personal computer for communication and inventory control
- Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization techniques, and dental laboratory procedures
- Familiarity with dental nomenclature, instruments, and materials
- Certification in CPR by the American Heart Association and training in AED usage
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with expanded functions in restorative, endodontic, prosthetic, and oral surgical procedures
- Previous work in a correctional facility or similar environment
- Knowledge of ethical standards of dental practice
- Familiarity with First Aid procedures
- Additional certifications related to dental assisting
