      St. Louis County Collector of Revenue serves as the billing, collecting and disbursing agent for more than 200 different taxing districts.       We are currently seeking a detail oriented, analytical professional to assist the Collector of Revenue with these functions by overseeing the daily operations of the office.

      The typical starting range is between $75,795.20-$100,006.40 annually depending on the candidate's qualifications as well as budgetary considerations.       St. Louis County Government is a qualified agency for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program managed by the Federal Government. For more information regarding this program, please visit https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service.Manage real and personnel property annual tax bill preparation and Projected Tax liability notices, including the review of submitted documents and verification of tax rates, and prepare and send tax related notices as needed and directed by law.

      Train and supervise employees engaged in collections and recording of payments received.

      Validate bills and cash receipts and perform ACH transfers of funds.

      Address correspondence concerning complex tax matters and questions of liability.

      Maintain records and prepares monthly, annual, and ad hoc reporting.

      Research and prepare tax cases for court in cooperation with Attorneys.

      Ensure delinquent taxpayers are not engaged in business with the County.

      Perform other duties as required or assigned.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Policy or a related field and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

      The work rules for the Department of Revenue require all employees, whether they reside in St. Louis County or elsewhere, to remain current in the payment of their personal and real property taxes. SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT : A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.

      The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.

      The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.

      All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
