      The Office of Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell seeks a Deputy Press Secretary to assist in its fast-paced, high-volume press office. The Deputy Press Secretary will respond to media inquiries, draft press materials and pitches, and will report to the Director of Communications and Press Secretary.

      Primary Duties: Serve as a primary media spokesperson for several bureaus and divisions within the Attorney General’s Office, focusing on such areas as health care, charities, Medicaid fraud, legislative priorities, criminal matters, and others; respond to media inquiries from local and national print, radio, and television outlets regarding investigations and cases within your assigned bureaus; draft press releases, talking points, and public statements regarding the Office and matters relative to the assigned bureaus; craft speeches for public events; coordinate with bureau and division chiefs to track cases and activities; research and identify potential story angles and pitch story ideas to reporters; assist other staff, including the Director of Communications, Press Secretary, other Deputy Press Secretaries, and the Digital Director, as needed, on a variety of media and public relations events, issues, and projects.

      Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt

      Salary: $55,000 to $65,000

      Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or related experience; experience in public relations, communications, or journalism; strong written and oral communication and research skills; strong attention to detail and organizational skills; proficiency with digital communications and social media platforms; and an ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects.
