      We are seeking a dynamic engineering professional with proven success in defining complex test plans, setting technical project criteria, and self-managing ambitious project timelines and budgets. The Senior Development Manufacturing Engineer will lead technical development and implementation of manufacturing processes for the 3D Systems team in Littleton, Colorado, with a focus on medical, industrial, and aerospace applications including scalable additive manufacturing capabilities. This role will provide technical coaching to teammates and will be an integral part of a cross-functional team working to achieve site, project, and program goals.       This role has an onsite work schedule requiring the person to be in the onsite location 5 days a week.

      What You Will Do

      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop procedures, work instructions, and controls ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
      • Provide technical coaching to manufacturing engineering teammates.
      • Identify and develop business cases for investments that will contribute to company strategy.
      • Identify manufacturing processes that augment 3D systems current offerings. Use engineering logic to define critical functionality needs and work with suppliers to scope appropriate equipment. Complete equipment purchases, then establish and execute installation qualification requirements.
      • Execute product realization and project management processes to deliver innovation timely and with excellent quality. Quickly complete rough proof of concept, then scale up to deliver manufacturing methods that are reliable and repeatable.
      • Participate in customer meetings to provide feedback on design for manufacturability and customer-proposed testing.
      • Write and execute Verification and Validation (V&V) test protocols and final reports.
      • Design and test auxiliary fixtures, tools, and processes; work with suppliers to scope and purchase hardware.
      • Develop clear and concise process control documentation and procedures; ensuring processes are controlled and repeatable.
      • Implement new operational solutions, including preparing visual work instructions, executing Change Orders to update internal procedures and instructions, and subsequent training of internal personnel as necessary.
      • Consistently update stakeholders on status of individual projects and progress against critical milestones, ensuring on-time execution within scope and budget.
      • Support the production floor by using technical problem-solving skills to resolve both urgent and systemic issues. Document the results of investigations and resolutions through the CAPA, Nonconformance, or Deviation processes.
      • Applied understanding of applicable quality management systems requirements and best practices; ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.
      • Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards for export controls and handling of government contracts (e.g. ITAR, EAR, etc.)

      What You Will Bring

      • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline required
      • At least four years of engineering experience or more with demonstrated proficiency in supporting manufacturing operations, preferably in the medical, industrial or aerospace industries under FDA/ISO 13485 or AS9100 design controls
      • Proven track record of working in the methodical, structured, and well-documented manner expected in a highly regulated industry
      • Solid understanding and background in core manufacturing engineering fundamentals, such as process development, GD&T, quality by design, data analysis, statistics, testing/inspection, supplier interaction, structured problem-solving tools, change control, and process/equipment validation
      • Experience conducting and reporting V&V activities
      • Experience designing and manufacturing tooling/fixtures using CAD software.
      • Ability to read and design engineering specifications across multiple products and materials.
      • Exposure to lean practices such as 8 wastes, Gemba, process mapping, and value stream mapping
      • A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
      • Demonstrated professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and clearly documenting manufacturing processes and test results
      • This position serves the Manufacturing Engineering Group, which includes the need to work on export-controlled products from aerospace and defense customers
      • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time

      Preferred Experience

      • Experience with CNC machining a plus
      • Experience with additive manufacturing in a production environment a plus
