Set out process for tooling governance including creating and populating tooling catalogue and mapping to the DevSecOps Tooling Capability Framework.
Regularly review and assess new and existing tooling choices, whilst maintaining a summary TIME (Tolerate, Invest, Migrate and Eliminate) classification for each tool and instance.
Identify and implement missing tooling capabilities on the pipeline.
Create Golden Pathways/Pipelines in Azure DevSecOps for 3 target types: Azure Functions, Container Apps and SPA
Create Services to assist the onboarding and creation of correct project scaffold in source code.
Get set of patterns approved for repeatable factory output of Infrastructure components using Infra as Code (IaC) being Azure Functions, Container Apps and SPA
Look at setting up a SRE function as part of the new Platform Engineering Team.
Insights and Metrics daily feeds of data from key tool on the DevSecOps toolchain.
Building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments & implementing DevSecOps best practices
Map Azure Cloud Controls to NIST CSF (Cyber Security Framework) and automate the governance of the azure platform to these standards using IaC templates (Terraform).
Management of Source Control to SIEM Integration and improvements for Daily Backups of Source Code
Management SIEM integration from Azure DevOps and pushing to the Skipton SIEM tool. Linked with Insights and Metrics.
Source control backup management and lifecycle.
Creating/maintaining knowledge bases and creating training materials and onboarding users onto training platforms to enhance Application Security.
Launch and nurture new community of practice for APIs and define contextual relationship with Platform Engineering.
Knowledge and experience of a broad range of technologies or expert in a single technology across infrastructure, servers or complex ecosystem
Background in integrated services
Azure or GCP deployment experience
Experience of CI/CD Methodology and KPI’s
GIT, Azure DevOps, Ansible and other deployment tool experience is necessary
Effective communication skills, good team leader, player
Essential experience in code branching, merging to support releases
Essential experience of troubleshooting, reporting, fault resolution experience
Experience of working in Azure DevOps alongside mixed teams including contractors and outsourced vendors
Other experiences of API, Networking as Code, Logic apps is highly desirable
Experience of working in agile delivery methods

Role Overview
The Cloud Development Operations Engineer (DevOps Engineer) will be responsible for developing and managing the cloud strategy which will include frameworks, standards and toolsets which drive the consistent use of automated cloud based solutions within the Cloud Technology Services team, this will include daily operational tasks, project delivery and development operations.
Enterprise experience in development and overseeing the implementation of cloud automation and integration of toolsets with infrastructure management and development tools. As the DevOps Engineer you will need to be proficient in the field of DevOps, SecDevOps and have leadership skills to mentor, train and manage Infrastructure as Code methodology into a developing function.
The DevOps Engineer will also be a key SME in Cloud Infrastructure as part of the Cloud Technology Service function providing strong technical leadership to reliant development teams, projects and programmes.What you’ll do:
