What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support and maintain database systems primarily for Microsoft SQL Server across various environments
- Perform routine DBA tasks including backups, performance tuning, and data migrations
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for database provisioning and deployment
- Document processes and standard operating procedures for database support and operations

What is Required (Qualifications):
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in database administration or database-focused application support
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and familiarity with other RDBMS like MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Understanding of relational database concepts and experience with version control systems like Git or Bitbucket
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a federal government IT environment
- Familiarity with AWS RDS, S3, or cloud-based database services
- Exposure to Liquibase, Flyway, or similar tools for database schema versioning
- Interest or experience in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation
- Previous Federal Consulting Experience
