Are you passionate about DevOps and enabling the delivery of business value? Kinsale Insurance has an opening for a DevOps Engineer who will report to the Senior Manager of Infrastructure Operations. Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Application Development, and Architecture teams to recommend and implement improvements in relation to the AWS Cloud environment and DevOps tools and platforms that support CI/CD processes at Kinsale. The DevOps Engineer will provide technical guidance and support to other members of the Infrastructure Operations team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Infrastructure Operation team’s engineering practices
• Identify and implement improvements to the application delivery process (CI/CD)
• Identify and implement improvements to Kinsale’s cloud-based infrastructure
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, developers, and other stakeholders
• Automate Linux configuration tasks and processes utilizing scripting and configuration management tools such as Bash, Python, and Ansible
• Automate the deployment of applications/workloads in AWS or on-premises environments, using tools such as Gitlab, Terraform, and Helm
• Identify and implement additional tooling to support Kinsale’s cloud and container strategy
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual deployments and configuration tasks
• Coach other team members on best practices and technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, or demonstrable experience in information technology roles

• 3 or more years of experience working with Kubernetes and container technologies
• Three or more years of experience working with AWS technologies and Gitlab for CI/CD
• Advanced experience with:
  • Application monitoring and synthetics
  • Scripting and markup languages such as YAML, Python, and Bash

• Implementing and maintaining DevOps tools such as Jira, New Relic, Gitlab, Nexus Repository, HashiCorp Consul, and Vault
• Demonstrated ability to stay current on the latest trends and technologies and to identify opportunities for their use
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
