      UMGC Stateside

      Location: Stateside Remote

      University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach Digital and Social Media Marketing courses remotely. Specifically, we are seeking faculty for the following courses:

      MRKT 354 Integrated Marketing Communications (3 credits): A study of the integration of marketing communication strategies to coordinate the marketing mix’s components and achieve harmony in messages to customers and other stakeholders. Emphasis is on leveraging various digital tools to achieve customer-centered marketing communications objectives. The scope of this integrated marketing communications plan will encompass a variety of communication modalities, e.g., digital media, including search, display, and social media, traditional advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations, and direct marketing.

      MKT 458 Social Media Marketing (3 credits): An introduction to social media marketing that uses social networking platforms to increase brand and product exposure and cultivate meaningful relationships with consumers. The aim is to engage with the consumers to create an interactive, relevant conversation as part of a dynamic marketing strategy. Discussions explore the current benefits and advantages of social media strategies and campaigns. Projects involve the development of social media posts, best practices for target markets, and evaluating successful campaigns.

      Required Education and Experience

      • Master’s degree in Marketing or a related field of learning.

      • Must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

      • Teaching experience in digital marketing is required.

      • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

      • This position is designated to teach remotely.

      The Adjunct Faculty Role at UMGC

      • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.

      • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.

      • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.

      • Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.

      Faculty Training at UMGC

      Assistant Adjunct Professor: Terminal Degree Step 1 $1,023 - Step 11 $1,288 per credit hour

      Associate Adjunct Professor: No Terminal Degree Step 1 $947 - Step 11 $1,205 per credit hour
