      An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital and Social Media Officer to join our Communications and Marketing team, working with colleagues across the organisation to deliver digital campaigns across a variety of channels.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will work as part of the Communications and Marketing team to support delivery of the NHSBSA's business strategy. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a range of digital and online communications including social media and video, ensuring our channels are a source of timely, accurate and relevant information for our audiences.

      A key part of the role will be helping to build a rapid response social media capability to deal quickly with disinformation and reclaim a fact-based public debate.

      The post holder will oversee the administration of our social media channels as well as training users and work closely with the Digital and Online team to ensure best practice and developments relating to the intranet and website are shared across the business.

      You will also work with our creative designers to create and edit videos, photos and other materials for our digital and online platforms.

      You will also help to build the NHSBSA's reputation as a digital organisation by working with the relevant Media and Campaigns Officers and members of the marketing and events team to promote news, key messages, and achievements through our digital channels.

      In this role, you are accountable for:

      1. Assisting the Senior Digital and Social Media Officer in the development and delivery of a social media strategy and associated guidance for the NHSBSA.
      2. Developing and maintaining the NHSBSAs social media sites and actively engaging with other stakeholders including other Arms Length Bodies and Department of Health and Social Care to share messages and content.
      3. Working with the relevant Media and Campaigns Officers to ensure a digital presence is an integral part of campaigns and service-specific communications.
      4. Evaluating the success of the NHSBSAs digital communications channels, and make recommendations and implement solutions for improvement to bring about a better user experience and business benefits, for example channel shift.
      5. Creating, managing, and delivering paid social media campaigns to a variety of audiences and reporting back on their effectiveness
      6. Providing advice and support to members of staff at all levels on using social media and other digital and online platforms.
      7. Working closely with staff in the Contact Centre who manage social media channels as a customer service channel to agree an approach to responses and ensure tone and messaging reflects the NHSBSAs narrative.
      8. Working with the Senior Digital and Social Media Officer and Media and Campaigns Manager to deliver a plan for the use of digital communications during a crisis situation so we can keep our customers and stakeholders up to date.
      9. Working with the Senior Digital and Social Media Officer to help to build a rapid response social media capability to deal quickly with disinformation and reclaim a fact-based public debate.
      10. Keeping up to date with developments in digital and social media, as well as emerging platforms and tools which the NHSBSA may benefit from using.
      11. Creating and editing videos and photographs of events to be used across all internal and external communications channels to promote the positive work of the NHSBSA and build our reputation as the delivery partner of choice for the NHS.
      12. Using analytics and sentiment to improve content and engagement across our social media channels.
      13. Working with our Creative Designers to develop content including graphics, video, audio, blogs and podcasts for internal and external projects, campaigns and initiatives.
      14. Working with the wider Communications and Marketing team to develop a communications forward plan for 2018/21 to map out activity.
      15. Providing inspiring leadership and develop professional capability and expertise within the team, driving continuous improvement by empowering, motivating, and inspiring the team to deliver timely results. Managing the workload and assigning tasks to the Digital and Social Media Assistant.
