Technical requirements:
- Extensive experience in digital forensics, incident response, and cyber investigations, with a proven track record of handling complex security incidents and forensic analysis in enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of forensic methodologies, evidence handling, and legal considerations, including chain of custody, admissibility of digital evidence, and industry best practices.
- Expertise in forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Autopsy, Volatility, and Sleuth Kit, as well as open-source and custom-built forensic frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of malware analysis, reverse engineering, and memory forensics, with the ability to dissect malicious code, identify attack vectors, and provide actionable intelligence.
- Proficiency in analyzing logs, network traffic, and endpoint artifacts to detect security breaches, unauthorized access, insider threats, and advanced persistent threats (APTs).
- Experience with cloud forensics across platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including knowledge of virtualized environments, containerized applications, and cloud-native security risks.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to streamline forensic processes, extract artifacts, and enhance investigative efficiency.
- Strong background in security frameworks, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2, ensuring forensic investigations align with legal and corporate policies.
- Ability to communicate forensic findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, legal teams, and law enforcement agencies.
- Experience leading forensic teams, mentoring junior analysts, and developing forensic best practices to enhance organizational security posture.
- Industry certifications such as GCFA (GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst), CCE (Certified Computer Examiner), CFCE (Certified Forensic Computer Examiner), or CHFI (Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator) are preferred.
