- Leads the team responsible for maintaining and revising the Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) manual and for developing training curriculum and courseware in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and Advisory Circulars
- Serves as liaison to the FAA for interpretation and implementation of training program requirements and for coordination of training program approvals
- Has final authority to verify, validate, and approve deviations or technology system overrides, in accordance with the Pilot Records User Guide, for the purpose of continuing safe and regulatory compliant operations
- Engages with industry experts to share ideas and assess new training technologies and methodologies. Demonstrates a continuous improvement mentality
- Coordinates with collaborators across the Flight Operations division to support ongoing and ad-hoc training needs and to ensure compliance with training requirements contained in the AQP Manual
- Coordinates across other company divisions (e.g., Global Learning, Digital Technology, Corporate Safety) in support of learning technologies and training content
- Manages regular and ad-hoc audits of pilot, instructor, and evaluator training programs and certification records
- Manages collection and analysis of training data including pilot survey feedback
- Leads the team responsible for managing specifications, development, testing, and training for all qualifications, learning, and training management systems
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Five years of experience in pilot training and training records management
- Strong organizational, time management, project management and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with AQP and training records systems
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Master’s degree in aviation, education, or management
- · The salary for this position is $118,050 to $173,140, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
This Director – AQP & Pilot Training Support, based at United’s Flight Training Center in Denver, is responsible for ensuring that United Airlines pilot, instructor, and evaluator training is designed and developed using standard processes for instructional system design and in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations. The Director oversees the teams that manage the Advanced Qualification Program, training curriculum and courseware development, and the pilot qualification, training, and learning management systems.
This role is onsite in Denver, CO and will require about 10% travel.
