      Director, Content Management – Tax Compliance (Software)

      Job Description Summary

      This role is responsible for the development and release management of the ATX and TaxWise products, the related tax form development processes, and leading the ATX and TaxWise teams. The primary focus is on delivering high quality, timely, and compliant tax forms and tax calculations for products spanning US Federal, State and local systems. The incumbent will actively promote efficient models of Tax Compliance forms development and delivery through people, processes, and technology.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Oversee the development and delivery of tax forms to the market on-time and meeting high quality standards
      • Oversee team of tax SMEs analyzing tax law changes
      • Oversee development of tax calculations and coding of tax calculations to forms
      • Oversee efile mapping in line with agency schema requirements
      • Oversee Quality Assurance team error testing to ensure high quality standards are met
      • Oversee the creation of acceptance returns for paper, 2D, and efile test submissions, and coordinate approval of acceptance returns with agencies
      • Manage competing priorities and large portfolio of deliverables during peak form development season
      • Assimilate knowledge from governmental agencies and align product delivery with all Federal, State, and local requirements and industry norms
      • Partner with Service Excellence (Support) organizations to provide timely responses to customer inquiries
      • Foster a culture of operational excellence that delivers with velocity and quality to drive great customer interaction with our products
      • Establishes best-in-class processes, governance, and controls aligned with agile, lean, SCRUM, and/or SAFe methodologies
      • Provide clear and timely communication to the Vice President Tax Compliance Solutions, the CTO, other executives, the Tax Compliance team, project management, product management, and sales regarding product delivery status, opportunities for innovation, and overall organizational effectiveness
      • Foster a high performing and engaging team culture that acquires, develops, and retains talent at all levels within the team

      Qualifications and Requirements

      • Background in Compliance, Accounting, or Finance, or Computer Science background applied to Compliance, Accounting, or Finance
      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
      • CPA, Law Degree and/or advanced degree in Taxation preferred
      • Minimum 10 years tax management experience leading teams required, preferably within the software/tech industry
      • 3+ years prior Director level experience preferred
      • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high performing teams
      • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles
      • Experience in tax disputes and inquiries from tax authorities
      • Experience with efile development, efile mapping, and agency schema requirements
      • Experience in enterprise software development, design, and/or cloud operations or equivalent
      • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
      • Experience with developing, tracking, and communicating metrics and KPIs for business operations
      • Ability to research and effectively communicate complex tax issues
      • Ability to present and communicate with C-level executives
      • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and managing multiple priorities
      • Expert working in matrix-organization, leading by influence

      Leadership and Communication Skills

      • Communicates in a professional manner when interacting with less-experienced staff, peers, executives, and internal or external customers
      • Communicates corporate and departmental strategies to the team
      • Channels strategic ideas and other input from staff to the Vice President Tax Compliance Solutions, the CTO, and other executives
      • Produces well-written business documentation
      • Prepares and conducts presentations for various user areas and staff levels, including the Vice President Tax Compliance Solutions, the CTO, and other executives
      • Serves as a coach for all staff members and establishes mentor relationships with directly-reporting staff
      • Interacts and collaborates with peers, other teams, and other departments in a cooperative spirit
      • Negotiates with other departments and divisions
      • Fosters and rewards innovation
