- Serves as a member of the agency Leadership Team to provide insights, assessment and recommendations on diversity, equity, and inclusion during decision-making processes.
- Develops and/or acquires professional development training to aid diversity, equity, inclusion, and retention initiatives.
- Compiles statistics, metrics, and reports to assess the progress and effectiveness of DEI initiatives.
- Develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to foster the agency’s DEI goals.
- Directs the administration of programs that promote employee and vendor diversity.
- Oversees the design of procedures to ensure compliance with internal polices and external diversity regulations.
- Develops initiatives to foster knowledge and adoption of diversity, equity and inclusion topics and best practices, and develops strategies to attract, develop, and retain members of underrepresented groups.
- Researches, analyzes, and presents trends in the field of diversity, serving as an expert to develop new initiatives and stay abreast of competitors.
- Collaborates with HR recruitment, to draft and implement recruiting and hiring strategies to attract employees from underrepresented groups.
- Serves as a mandatory reviewer of all agency practices and procedures to ensure that they support the agency’s DEI goals.
- M anages DEI email inbox and intranet sites. Coordinates with Communications to update the Agency website.
- Available to assist individual programs with their community partnerships to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives are a factor in the partnership.
- Monitors and reports on DEI trends and network with peers at other DC-area providers, CCUSA and other Catholic Charities organizations and similar organizations to gain insight into issues and best practices.
- Develops initiatives to foster knowledge and adoption of diversity, equity and inclusion topics and best practices, and develops strategies to attract, develop, and retain members of underrepresented groups.
- Completes other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree with the training and experience which provides the skills to perform the essential job duties competently.
- 5-7 years of related experience with a minimum of 3-5 years of leading DEI programs.
- Experience engaging and collaborating as a team player with individuals across multiple disciplines, cultures and backgrounds to achieve shared goals.
- Experience using metrics to advance diverse, equitable and inclusive initiatives in the workplace in a non-profit environment a plus.
- Ability to communicate the agency’s DEI vision, goals and objectives to staff and others.
- Knowledge of HR law, principles and practices including state and federal regulations and laws.
- Strong spoken communication skills in English, multilingual skills desirable.

Our Benefits:
JOB SUMMARY: The Director, DEI serves as the agency’s thought leader and is responsible for facilitating and monitoring the day-to-day implementation of the decisions and action items approved by the Chief Executive Officer. The individual in this role has direct access to the Chief Executive Officer for the purpose of achieving the DEI agency goals.
