Job Summary Responsible for leading and supporting the environment, health and safety (EHS) business function for the Pacific Northwest Region. Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating EHS work to ensure compliance with the environmental, industrial health and safety regulations and company policies. Handles coordination of all environmental, safety compliance programs and conducts environmental safety inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards and prevailing professional practices. Ensures that actions are taken to correct deficiencies or violations of standards, investigates employee complaints and suggestions regarding hazardous conditions, maintains site health and safety records, manages support contracts and interfaces with federal, state and local regulatory officials. Provides leadership and direction for environment, health and safety programs and practices throughout the region. Proactively partners with the business to promote and support environment, health and safety practices and programs throughout the region and leverages change management principles where appropriate. Manages professionals at manager, supervisor and professional levels. Ensures appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives. Influences, develops, shapes, and integrates environment, health and safety strategy for the region and works with Division and HQ partners in enterprise and division wide initiatives. Job Description Core Responsibilities Program & Policy Development and Administration Manages the development, implementation, and administration of EHS Programs within the Pacific Northwest Region. Provides feedback on and contributes (where requested) to corporate and division programs and policies and supports execution at the region level. Develops and manages the regional EHS budget. Program Implementation Leads national, regional and/or divisional cross-functional EHS projects that may span multiple years and have impacts on EHS and the organization overall. Leads development of annual EHS goals and metrics, incorporating corporate, division and specific region goals and metrics. Manages annual program to ensure compliance objectives are met including facility assessments, training and corrective action follow up. Oversees accuracy and reporting of all required EHS data. Proactively drives and leads EHS values, strategy, programs and innovation across the region, promoting EHS best practices with employees at all levels, and partnering with business leaders to promote safety as a value. Collaboration, Communication and Internal Reporting Works closely with or under the direction of EHS leadership on developing/implementing EHS programs that drive consistency and improvement. This includes active participation or leading a variety of EHS planning teams, participation and/or leadership of specific assigned projects and active engagement with regional, divisional and HQ peers. Coordinates and partners with other business functions (Tech Ops, Network Maintenance, Sales, Care, HR, Learning and Development, IT, Communications etc.) and key partners (Corporate Health Services, Legal, Risk, Security, Operations, ) in communicating EHS risks and plans/programs to address those risks. Communicates regularly with other business functions. Provides input for budgeting (EHS equipment, ergonomic equipment, EHS related systems improvements etc.) Regularly reports to leadership on status of goals, metrics and relevant EHS events, incidents, and strategy. Communicates, meets and partners frequently with key regional and division business stakeholders to better understand business needs and regional trends, shares relevant EHS-related efforts and information, and identify regional EHS opportunities. Visit regional facilities, meeting with frontline employees and leaders to promote workplace safety, EHS values and programs. Personnel Management Manages EHS professionals’ development and succession planning as appropriate. Conducts performance reviews of direct report(s) providing coaching when appropriate and reviews performance reviews conducted by EHS managers in their organization. Supports the development of a diverse workforce within the EHS organization. Role will require oversight and working with outside consultants on projects. Subject Matter Expertise Provides expertise in one or more EHS or management subject areas. Assessments and Investigations Coordinates with field EHS managers and specialists along with other business functions to ensure significant EHS incidents are investigated to determine root cause and for development of corrective and preventative actions to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence. Will lead/oversee investigation and coordinate communications on incidents considered SIF incidents and incidents requiring reporting to regulatory authorities and have expectation of a regulatory agency investigation. Personal Judgment Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Schedule and Travel Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. Role requires occasional travel (divisional and/or corporate meetings, travel to/within Regions and some travel to outside training/conferences) Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education Bachelor's Degree While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience. Relevant Work Experience 10 Years + Salary: Primary Location Pay Range: $132,385.36 - $198,578.04 Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
