As we continue to advance mental health for all, we are seeking a passionate, curious and experienced leader to direct our Organizational Development, Equity Diversity and Inclusion, Wellness, Gifts of Light and Volunteer Resources portfolio. Reporting to the Vice-President, People & Experience, the successful candidate for this key leadership role will lead a team of professional staff responsible for all aspects in supporting and advancing CAMH’s values-based culture, initiatives and people practices that are aligned with the purpose and values of the organization. The Director, Experience and Inclusion will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing strategies that promote a culture of inclusion throughout the organization that embraces diversity and equity, and enhance our leadership. The role will also focus on wellness and how to support staff and leaders. The successful candidate will collaborate with leadership across the organization, employees, volunteers and external partners to drive initiatives across CAMH. This role will work closely with various other Directors and leaders across the organization, including the Director, People.
Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: development and implement strategies to support our EDI work, as well as strategies in relation to engagement, wellness of staff, and our volunteers.
Leadership Development: work closely with leadership to build awareness, understanding, and commitment to EDI principles and practices and to align leadership capacity with CAMH’s strategic plan.
Employee & Volunteer Engagement: foster an inclusive environment through initiatives that enhance the engagement of employees and of volunteers, satisfaction and well-being.
Talent Management: leading the Talent Management program at CAMH to develop and support our people and foster CAMH as an employer of choice.
Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance cultural competency and promote inclusivity at all levels of the organization
Recruitment and Retention: Working with Director, People and Recruitment team, develop strategies and tactics to attract and retain talent and a diverse workforce
Metric and Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure progress and impact of all initiatives within the role’s responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in relevant area (for example, Organizational Development, Psychology, Human Resources, Business, etc) or equivalent specialized knowledge in a relevant field, holding professional designation and/or certifications in these areas.
6-10 years relevant demonstrated leadership experience in building and managing a people function with progressive experience in roles relating to EDI, OD, Wellness and culture.
Demonstrated record of accomplishment for excellence in execution; you can lead with vision, set ambitious goals, as well as innovate, improve and promote accountability and excellence.
Knowledge: in-depth understanding of OD, EDI, change management, culture change and adult learning principles, as well as current industry best practices. Solid understanding of employment related legislation.
Communication: Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Collaboration: Proven ability to build, sustain and deliver results through collaborative relationships and work across departments – at all levels – and with external partners
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
Experience in health care is an asset.
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Please Note : This full-time, permanent position is NOT part of any bargaining unit.
