      This position is responsible for directing all aspects of Delta Dental Federal Government Programs Claims and Customer Service operations, including overseeing IT support and compliance with DoD security regulations.

      Qualifications

      • 12+ years w/Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); 3+ years management.
      • Experience working with large government contracts and/or experience in healthcare management preferred.
      • Extensive knowledge of health care industry.
      • Excellent organizational/time management skills with the ability to multi-task while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
      • Advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
      • Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies, claims, eligibility and underwriting guidelines.
      • Working knowledge of HIPPA and information assurance requirements.
      • Excellent leadership skills.
      • Knowledge of project management and continuous improvement processes.
      • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.


      Base Pay Information

      The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
      Pay Grade 23. $106,400 - $230,600

      Responsibilities

      • Sets strategic objectives for Federal Services Operational departments, including Claims Processing and Customer Service, and all IT development and maintenance of the various systems affecting Federal Services, including the DDMI Claims Processing System, DDC supported distributed systems (e.g., Macess, Formworks, Outlook), proprietary applications and IVR; improves cost effectiveness, monitors progress and identifies required corrective actions.
      • Ensures ongoing compliance with DoD’s Information Assurance program, and all contractual operations performance requirements.
      • Ensures customer (government and enrollee) satisfaction with Federal Government Programs operations.
      • Oversees the Claims Processing, Customer Services, IT support, and Government Security functions to ensure work is completed in a timely and accurate manner as defined in division goals.
      • Interviews, selects, evaluates, and rewards the performance of all direct reports. Promotes a constructive work environment, organizing staff into teams to accomplish work and meet customer demands.
      • Ensures staff receives on-going training and works with training resources to develop written training materials and procedures.
      • Develops annual department and project budgets; identifies variances and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
      • Negotiates contracts and agreements with clients (including DOD and vendors).
      • Represents Federal Government Programs in Customer Operations initiatives.
