      The Global Commercial Excellence function forms part of GIACE and is the Global BBU function that play a critical role in outlining the capabilities need for future success, secure that these capabilities are developed across the BBU markets/functions, and that owns the assessment of the quality of the execution of these capabilities.

      The vision for Global Commercial Excellence is to support our BBU Ambition with a relentless focus on securing pre-launch excellence, future proofing BBU with elevated world class capabilities, and enabling practice change at scale.

      Accountabilities and team overview

      Commercial resource deployment is one of the largest investments made in AstraZeneca yearly, and the one of which our success depends on the most. In a context where myriad of new digital channels has emerged and require an integrated model to deliver their promise, and with 15+ critical launches upcoming, this is the time when Global Commercial Operational Excellence leadership within the BBU is needed the most.

      Global Commercial Operations Excellence forms part of the Global Commercial Excellence team and play a critical role outline strategy and process to ensure the BBU brands achieve aimed revenue. The accountability of the Global Commercial Operations Excellence team is to secure that AZ markets maximise the outputs from our commercial activity resource deployment, face-to-face and through Digital channels. The specific topics within the teams’ accountability are: Segmentation & Targeting, HCP Profiling, Data Analytics, Incentives, FF Sizing, CRM enhancement, Field management, Digital deployment, CRM tools and enhancements required to successfully execute our resource allocation model.

      Candidate Focus and Challenge

      We are now looking for a person with strong experience Commercial Operations Excellence that can form part of a team that will re-build and drive these core capabilities across the organisation.

      The Director of Commercial Operations Excellence have three core tasks to deliver;

      • Outline and launch a new Resourcing & SFE Framework: Prepare global guidance, set new standards, introduce a comprehensive roll-out plan covering learning aligned modules, host webinars and F2F workshops.
      • Secure pull through of new framework: lead implementation of Project SEIZE and Apollo, securing adjustments are done and that actions on key findings are followed through.
      • Ensure Operations Excellence standards get embedded in key business planning processes and securing maximization of resources.

      The role reports into the Sr Director Commercial Operations and supports BBU Global Brand Teams, Regions, and MCs, with priority on EUCAN. The role ensures its initiatives have good alignment and coordination with Global Commercial Excellence, wider GIACE, Global Digital Commercial, Global Commercial IT, EUCAN Region and priority markets US and Japan.

      CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

      • Experience managing operational excellence: SFE, S&T, Incentives, Field deployment management.
      • Knowledge of Digital channels management and the AZ Omnichannel initiatives to reshape the current commercial model.
      • Knowledge of CRM platforms and associated tools and processes, referred to the crafting of cycle plans but also to providing insights to Field teams and inclusion of Omnichannel capabilities.
      • Ample knowledge of core BBU brands commercial strategy.
      • Experience in an innovative, cross functional business climate, preferably having a strong SFE background, with a strong career track and sufficient potential to grow.
      • Ability to communicate and influence across different levels of the organization, from senior leadership to functional roles at market and above-market level.
      • Business analytical mindset: ability to understand and shape rigorous data analyses while keeping a concise narrative that drives action in simple manner.
