- Bachelors degree in finance, business administration or related field
- MBA
- 10+ years of insurance, or related financial experience, in a large, global organization
- Strong leadership experience, including demonstrated ability to develop teams and create partnerships
- Background in manufacturing
- Experience working with risk management systems
- Strong knowledge of global insurance markets and products
- Experience managing large and/or complex claims
- Sound understanding of basic financial and accounting concepts and their applicability to insurance
- Proficient in MS Office - Excel, Word and Power Point
- Technical aptitude to successfully work with specific management systems (i.e Origami)
- Experience with OneStream and/or Oracle Cloud
- Familiarity with insurance captives
- Insurance Program Design and Procurement
- Lead the budget and design of the insurance program structure (i.e. limits, retentions, policy form, etc.), selection of insurers, and binding of policies; including auto, GL, product, property, D&O, EPLI, pollution liability, fiduciary, crime, marine cargo, aviation, cyber, and other ancillary policies.
- Responsible for the analyses and validation of information collected for the insurance underwriting process for global insurance renewals and represents the company in underwriting meetings.
- Relationship Management
- Primary individual responsible for developing, cultivating and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers including legal, brokers, insurers and third-party claims management administrators.
- Loss Reduction and Control
- Accountable for developing, maintaining and overseeing the Company’s process of identifying, measuring, and managing the Company’s operational risks.
- Reviews and ensures the accuracy of loss analyses and ad hoc reports to track KPI’s and identify loss trends.
- Subject matter expert in understanding insurance issues, recommending solutions, and implementing programs to optimize operations.
- Claims Management
- Oversees the management of all property and insured liability claims in conjunction with brokers, insurers, legal counsel and third-party administrators.
- Participates in trials and mediations with internal and external legal counsel.
- Manages all aspects of the company’s subrogation efforts.
- Compliance / Other
- Manages all aspects of the company’s insurance captive.
- Review various types of contracts and agreements to verify insurance language is compliant with company purchased insurance policies and company approved language.
- Monitors compliance with safety / risk management policies and updates as necessary.
- Prepares annual budget.
- Acts as administrator for the Company’s risk management system.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Director of Global Insurance, reporting to the Vice President and Assistant Treasurer, will develop and execute the insurance strategy for The Sherwin-Williams Company and its subsidiaries. This position will gain a thorough understanding of the Company’s operations and build partnerships across the business and insurance industry to be able to identify, quantify and manage insurable risks. This role will provide risk management expertise and guidance to ensure relevant risks are adequately covered by insurance or other alternative risk management mechanisms.
Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.
