- Build and maintain an advanced understanding of EIMEA healthcare market mechanisms, payer and provider trends, health policy, medical technology, funding, and reimbursement trends to inform strategic decision-making regarding payer, healthcare economics strategies, and advocacy needs. Identify data/evidence gaps for each priority product and work with the team to design value-based care strategies that fill these gaps to support market access, reimbursement, and brand strategies. Support the development of real-world evidence usage in health-economic and outcomes research activities.
- In collaboration with Clinical Collaboration and Scientific Communications and Research, KOLs, Marketing, and other team members, identify the areas of greatest need for payer or evaluation body-focused health economics data and advocate for the development of these data to obtain or protect reimbursement and funding for Accuray technologies. This effort aims to support the installed base, strategically important growth markets, and the Accuray Product Roadmap.
- Direct the work of outside consultants to achieve organizational goals, including HEOR data/model application or development and lobbying governments and payers to secure or maintain reimbursement in strategically significant markets.
- Work with other team members and departments to develop customer, investor, and payer-focused tools featuring health-economic, market trend, and competitive analysis data to demonstrate the Accuray Advantage. Develop relationships and collaborate closely with key knowledge and opinion leaders (KOLs) and academic researchers throughout the advocacy and research/dissemination cycle.
- Engage with patient associations, industry organizations, and scientific societies in priority markets defined by strategic planning to raise awareness of radiotherapy, convey the patient voice, develop powerful advocates, and support Accuray objectives. Support communication with key representatives of these organizations in targeted countries. Evaluate opportunities and, where feasible, support public-private partnership projects.
- Continually refine the understanding of Accuray products and brand strategies, and develop the value propositions needed to support these strategies. Educate the company on key principles of healthcare policy and economics, payer decision-making, investor strategies, and other concepts within the discipline of patient access and strategic market development.
- BS or BA degree required (MA, MBA, MS or equivalent a plus). Degrees preferred in the areas of biomedical HEOR, health technology assessment, health policy, reimbursement or related field and a minimum 7 years of experience in reimbursement and 10 years of experience in the healthcare field, ideally with innovative, high cost, high technology medical devices
- Advanced understanding of and ability to use evidence to support value propositions
- Understanding of public and commercial payers, health technology assessment bodies, and government funding processes. Relevant knowledge of and experience in emerging markets is a plus
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to develop positive business relationships with all functional areas within Accuray as well as the medical community and Accuray customers
- Effective presentation skills are required; knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.
- Must understand the necessity and value of teamwork; ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Customer-focused; must have knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
- Strong results orientation and ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Fluency in English and in another European language is required.
