      For the expansion of our International team, argenx is looking for a Director Market Access International.

      PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

      It is an exciting time of growth for argenx as we strive to achieve our VISION 2030. Vision 2030 is our long-term commitment to transform the treatment of autoimmune diseases by strengthening its leadership in neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) biology, investing in its continuous pipeline of differentiated antibody candidates, and scaling in a disciplined way to ensure innovation remains core to the argenx mission. ‘Vision 2030’ includes the following goals: 50,000 patients globally on treatment with an argenx medicine, 10 labeled indications across all approved assets, including VYVGART and potentially empasiprubart and ARGX-119 and five new molecules in Phase 3 development.

      The Director, Market Access International will be responsible for leading pricing, reimbursement, market access, and policy activities across multiple countries, and execution across all payer and distribution channels. The argenx International Market Access team works across all International countries, ex-US and Japan, and in close collaboration with other functions and with local country teams.

      ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Develop innovative access strategies on a country level that are of high quality, based on value delivered and that are fit for purpose

      • Have deep country-level understanding of payer needs, decision-making approaches, strategies, and country reimbursement stakeholders and influencers

      • Collaborate with the Country Managers on the local pricing & reimbursement processes in the individual markets

      • Coordinate the negotiation strategy per country, with a clearly defined negotiation approach, in close collaboration with the respective Country Manager and other functions as needed

      • Establish and maintain personal relationships with select payers, advisors, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders

      • Support the development of health economic and outcomes analyses (CEA, BIA, burden of disease, etc.) required for access, working in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams

      • Develop compliant communication tools to be used in discussions with payers

      • Leads internal & external providers to ensure that Market Access deliverables are suitable for purpose & available in a timely fashion

      • Evaluates market access & P&R environmental developments in specific countries

      SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

      • Ability to grasp highly technical concepts and to work within a deeply scientific environment; Exceptional learning agility, demonstrated by advancement in prior roles/companies

      • Direct experience negotiating with payers and securing positive HTA outcomes in at least one major EU market.

      • Experience working within launch and commercialization teams for therapies in the orphan and rare disease space in Europe

      • First-rate analytical ability, with a penchant for using data to inform decision-making

      • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively together within cross-functional teams and networks

      • Demonstrated communication skills, within a multi-cultural and multi-lingual global environment

      • Is agile and demonstrates adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, trust-building, and resilience

      • Derives energy from operating in a dynamic, complex, fast-moving, and frequently changing business environment

      • Demonstrable experience with project management, proactive planning, priority setting, and securing alignment

      • Drives toward outcomes

      EDUCATION, EXPERIEN CE

      • 7+ years of relevant industry experience in biotech/pharma.

      • 5+ years Market Access & Pricing experience specifically involving specialty drug launches in Europe

      • Advanced graduate level training in the natural sciences, medicine, business, engineering, or finance required Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field. Ph.D. or MBA preferred.

      • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.

      • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.

      • High level of cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in a multi-country environment

      • Ability to thrive in an environment where co-creation and partnership is key

      • Experience effectively managing external agency partners, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and internal/external stakeholders to effectively implement strategies and programs.
