- Responsible for developing and leading clinical performance improvment initiatives related to patient safety at a system level
- Measures and evaluates data to identify trends and determine the impact of Orlando Health programs on the health and safety of patients, with a commitment to achieve zero harm events.
- Partners with site level Quality Managers/Directors and Clincial Quality Specialists, Risk Management, and clinical leaders on the development of strategies related to adverse events. Ensures a bidirectional flow of communication between individual site leadership and corporate quality.
- In collaboration with the AVP, Corporate Quality, creates and executes strategies that promote a culture of safety and a learning system consistent with the Institute of Healthcare Improvments framework for Safe, reliable, and effective care. Achieves and maintains clinical and operational excellence as measured by joint commission, CMA, US News, Leapfrog and others.
- Ensures the execution and communication of perdormance improvement activities throughout the organization by directing other in the implementation and communication of their clinical quality and saftey performance improvement activities, Serves as the facilitator of the Orlando Health SAFE Teams.
- Utilizes tool and methodologies such Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) for performance improvement and mentors and trains others in these approaches
- Performs/oversees literature reviews to ensure improvement tactics are consistent with evidence based practice an extensive knowledge of current healthcare treands, policies, and regulations
- Adheres to Orlando Health policies, procedures, vaule statements and commitment to Standards of Behaviors
- Develops and maintains close working relationships with the medical staff, nursing, allied health, and other healthcare leaders to develop trust and gain insight into the operational influences on quality/saftey
- Competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to complex business challenges
- Ability to influence ket stakeholders at various organizational levels
- Able to function autonomously and make complex decisions to situations of ambiguity and time pressure
- Prepares and conducts effective presentations to team members at all levels

Position Summary

Position Summary
The Clinical Quality and Safety Director is responsible for planning, designing, and leading strategies that will support Orlando Health acheievement of top decile performance in all patient safety and quality measures. Licensure/Certification
Current clinical liensure in the State of Florida. Licensure as a registered nurse or Nurse Practioner preferred.
Experience
Five years working on performance improvement activities with measurable results, preferably in clinical operations setting
Education/Training
Bachelor's Degree in clinical or allied health field required.Masters Dgree in health related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification
