- Implement a cohesive and innovative cluster communications plan aligned with Oceania’s and APAC’s business goals and the DP World culture, and values.
- To strengthen employee engagement by improving and optimising internal communication channels, such as the intranet, email newsletters, and employee events.
- To establish and maintain strategic relationships with key media to enhance brand awareness and reputation.
- To manage and leverage a variety of digital platforms and channels to communicate the company’s activities and interests.
- Overseeing the creation of internal content, including newsletters, bulletins, and announcements, while managing feedback mechanisms to ensure the operational workforce remains informed, engaged, and aligned with organisational objectives.
- Oversee communication efforts during crises or significant issues, providing clear, timely, and consistent messaging to both the operational and corporate workforces to minimize disruption and maintain morale.
- To provide strategic guidance and council to the Executive Vice President of Oceania and the Cluster Leadership team.
- Collaborate with the APAC CoE to deliver impactful digital and social media communications while monitoring and enhancing media presence
- Minimum 12 years in communications management, ideally in B2B and multi-national environments
- Experience working in a global matrix environment
- Proven strategic planning and campaign execution skills.
- Experience managing media relationships and digital platforms.
- Familiarity with change management and transformation communication initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budget management and KPI achievement
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong cultural awareness and a dedicated commitment to promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) values.
- Expertise in strategic communications.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and analytics tools to monitor performance and adjust strategies.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering both internal and external messaging.
- Expertise in media relations. Industry relations knowledge is a plus.
- Strong ability to manage high-pressure situations, navigate sensitive issues, and uphold professionalism in crisis communication.
The purpose of the Director of Communications – Oceania - APAC is to ensure effective communication across our Oceania Cluster by developing and implementing communications strategies targeted to employees, customers, industry, local authorities, media and the community.
Reporting to the Vice President of Communications – APAC and working closely with , this Sydney-based role encompasses internal and external communications, media relations, digital and social media, and global partnerships. The role also supports crisis communication, brand reputation, employee engagement, and event planning in collaboration with the APAC Communications Centres of Excellence (CoE).
