      ABOUT THE HOTEL

      With a planned opening in the fall of 2024,the Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa will mark Marriott Bonvoy’s first hotel in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Conveniently located opposite the main train station, the hotel will offer a perfect gateway to explore Luxembourg and its alluring blend of historical charm and modern vitality. On the hotel’s doorstep, guests can find the city’s main historical and cultural landmarks such as the Bock Casemates, National Museum of Art and History and Palace Grand Ducal. Paying tribute to the history of the building since the 1930’s, Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa features a timeless ambience with art deco design elements throughout the signature Greatroom Lobby, executive lounge and 154 guestrooms and suites. The famous Brasserie Alfa, adorned with original paintings of the Luxembourg artist Julien Lefèvre, is set for a revival to become a new dining destination and social hot spot in the city. Guests can enjoy seafood and classical French-inspired delights alongside modern cocktails at the bar. Other facilities at the hotel include a fully equipped gym and five meeting rooms.

      ABOUT THE POSITION

      The ideal candidate for this position has extensive experience in an Human Resource Management role and is fluent in French and English. Ideally the candidate has prior experience in leading a hotel opening or major renovation/conversion and working in the local market. You report directly to the property General Manager, with a dotted-line (functional) reporting relationship to the Vice President of the Luxury Human Resources Leader Europe and will be an integral member of the property executive committee. As a member of the Human Resources organization, you contribute a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for our new property. You will be accountable for talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management and development for property employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to help influence and execute business objectives in the most efficient manner.

      Your versatile tasks include:

      • You are the first point of contact for the executives you comprehensively supervise in all strategic and operational HR topics.
      • Especially in the opening phase, you will put together an efficient HR team and implement HR processes and policies to ensure compliance with French employment law.
      • Recruiting of specialists and executives as well as training and further education
      • Together with the hotel's management team, you will support the introduction and implementation of Marriott's corporate culture
      • Preparation and reporting of various key figures to the Executive Board, Regional and Divisional Offices
      • Ensuring the entire spectrum of personnel management/controlling in cooperation with your HR team
      • Continuous further development and implementation of modern HR instruments and concepts, ex. for personnel controlling, cost control and development
      • Occasional use as “Manager on Duty”

      This is what we want from you:

      • At least 5-8 years of experience in human resources with management responsibility
      • Enjoyment of teamwork and the passion for being there for people
      • Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with a high level of initiative
      • Constructive assertiveness and goal-oriented competence
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in German and English
      • Company-oriented thinking and acting in conjunction with a structured working style
      • Secure experience with the essential modern personnel instruments, project management, IT systems and social media
      • Extensive knowledge of labour, collective bargaining, tax and social security law
      • Strong sense of responsibility and quality,
