- Analyze business and operational activities to determine system(s) needs to meet and/or enhance IT and operational needs.
- Manage corporate IT Help Desk and site IT staff groups.
- Develop, implements, and monitor IT policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, legal, and regulatory compliance.
- Meet departmental financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Create, propose, implement, and oversee a strategic vision for development of IT infrastructure, processes, new system standards, maintenance, documentation, and applications.
- Acts as the primary liaison between IT internal resources and management and user groups.
- Procures the approval of affected management groups for planned outages, and disseminates information to management and users regarding maintenances, upgrades, outages, and technical policies.
- Responsible for the quality of all policy/procedure, notification, and training documentation produced.
- Collaborates with IT Management to select appropriate IT Security trainings and ensure compliance with training requirements.
- Provide support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
- Responsible for estimating, forecasting, and managing IT budgets.
- Negotiate and contract with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products.
- Oversee everyday operations of the IT department.
- Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Ensure that the company Disaster Recovery Plan is optimal, and that IT staff and technical infrastructure are capable of successfully executing the plan.
- Develop/select and conduct user training on an as-needed basis.
- At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., clients and vendors).
- Work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Actively participate in Management Development Leadership Series (MDLS) yearly.
- Actively participate in LDC Management Capacity Program as required.
- Must possess strong verbal, writing, and typing skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as directed.

- Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college or university required. Professional designation strongly preferred.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in an enterprise IT environment.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a management position.

- One IT systems-related certification (e.g. MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA, VCP, Server+)
- One IT security-related certification (e.g. CISSP, Security+)
- One IT networking-related certification (e.g. CCNA, Network+)
- Proficient in Microsoft environments and applications
- Proficient in a virtualization system (e.g., Vmware, Citrix)
- Proficient in enterprise networking architecture and technologies
- Proficient in SAN systems
- Proficient in enterprise mail systems
- Proficient in enterprise IP telephony
- Proficient in backup system management

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board and must provide/maintain a valid New Mexico drivers’ license.
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
Position Summary/General Description:
Creates, proposes, and implements a strategic vision for development of IT infrastructure, processes, system standards, maintenance, documentation, quality, and applications. Oversees the operations of the Corporate IT Help Desk, and each site IT staff group. Ensures Help Desk and site staff groups provide quality service and adhere to internal key control standards. Revises policies, processes, and procedures as necessary to ensure compliance with evolving standards. Acts as the primary liaison between IT internal resources and management and user groups. Produces and coordinates communications to stakeholders regarding IT activities, effectively communicating appropriate levels of technical detail to non-technical groups. Responsible for the quality of all policy/procedure, notification, and training documentation produced by IT. Provides project status, departmental progress, and accomplishments via direct reporting to the Corporate Director of IT.
