      Title: Director of Player Development – Softball

      Position Summary:

      Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate for the Director of Player Development position. This position will assist the softball program with day-to-day operations and administrative duties.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree required.
      • At least one year of collegiate softball playing or coaching experience preferably at the Division I level.
      • A commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, ACC, and institutional rules.

      Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

      • Excellent written and oral skills.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
      • Ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively.
      • Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail.
      • Ability to manage time well and prioritize tasks.

      Essential Functions:

      • Assist with preparation for practice and competition
      • Assist with community service.
      • Contribute to marketing and promotion planning.
      • Assist with equipment management.
      • Assist with game day management.
      • Prepare pregame scouting materials for coaching staff and team.
      • Assist with camps & clinics.
      • Ensure compliance with both national and university policies.
      • Counsel and advise members of the team.
      • Perform other related duties, incidental to the work described herein.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Education

      Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills required. acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. Prior coaching or playing experience preferably at the Division I level
