The Department of Public Safety is one of the largest fully integrated police and fire departments in the United States, with a FY 2024-25 budget of $103.8 million and 204 sworn staff and 89 professional staff. Public Safety Officers are fully trained as police officers, firefighters, and EMTs.
Sunnyvale seeks a progressive public safety leader who values productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. They will be an adaptable professional with proven success leading change. A sophisticated understanding regarding the utilization of data in strategy development and resource deployment will be expected. With outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, this approachable leader will value diverse perspectives.
Minimum Requirements:
