- Location: Onsite in the Lower East Side; remote flexibility as needed
- Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
- To provide comprehensive management and successful execution of the Train & Earn contract
- To effectively collaborate with Stacks and Joules, the building automated systems training partner
- To help create valuable work experiences at job sites that are safe, well-supervised, edifying, and aligned with program requirements
- To assist participants in identifying their career interests through exposure to different pathways within the green industrial & infrastructure landscape
- To enable participants to acquire good work habits and develop employment-related skills
- To facilitate the long-term employment and self-sufficiency of participants
- To enable participants to develop a greater understanding of higher education and advanced training pathways available to them
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
- Must have at least five (5) years' experience working with youth development and youth employment programs with contractual milestone requirements
- Three (3) years of experience supervising multiple staff preferred
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships, including managing multiple partners (public and private) and stakeholders (including funders)
- Ability to rapidly absorb and synthesize information and adeptly pivot to capitalize on opportunities to propel the work forward
- Ability to serve as a strong member of the Henry Street employment leadership team, including bringing an organizational development and growth mindset to support the continued development of Henry Street’s organizational culture, structure, and programs
- Advanced project management, written and verbal communication, public speaking, and problem-solving skills
- Competency in using data to inform strategic direction, including evaluating the data and feedback from partners to determine the most effective strategies and prioritization of workstreams
- Fluency in human-centered design principles and practices preferred
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and web-hosted databases
- Consistent and caring client service, high standards, organizational and time management skills in the face of tight deadlines
- Creativity, professionalism, and an excellent sense of humor
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Supervise and manage the growth of a new department and team consisting of a Social Worker, an Outreach & Retention Specialist, a Job Developer, and two Employment Coordinators
- Complete all program and contract required steps for recruitment, assessment, enrollment, retention, service plan development and implementation, tracking and reporting participants in the program
- Collect and submit all program and contract-required data
- Responsible for conducting performance evaluations (2X2s) on all program staff
- Refer participants appropriately to internal/external resources
- Create and support the delivery of curriculum for educational workshops
- Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences as required
- Complete reporting requirements including, but not limited to, funder requests, progress notes, client tracking, and pre-and post-tests
- Support quality assurance and audit submissions as requested by DYCD and other stakeholders
- Additional duties/projects as assigned by the supervisor
- Ability to lift to 10lbs
- Ability to stand, stoop, or sit for long periods, as needed

Role Overview:
The Director of Train & Earn is responsible for the administration and management of Henry Street Settlement’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded and Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) operated contract focused on building automated systems. The Director does this by engaging the City’s employment ecosystem: program stakeholders, other community-based organizations, corporate, education and employment partners, young people, and team members to work collectively to develop and actualize strategies that result in quality opportunities for participants. Youth employment strategies are focused on incorporating the lived experiences of young people, reducing barriers, leveraging institutional influence, and upholding equity to help participants attain and maintain internships, apprenticeships, and sustainable employment. The Train & Earn Director will work in conjunction with the Stacks & Joules team, Director of Business Development & Workforce Partnerships as well as the Director of Youth Employment to cultivate a pipeline for internship, apprenticeship, hiring and recruitment opportunities for program participants. Reporting to the Senior Director of Employment Services, the Director of Train & Earn is a seasoned project leader who understands the application of the collective impact process and who manages a team of dynamic workforce professionals. They are an authentic relationship-builder and have a history of successfully designing and executing projects from start to finish. The Director has deep experience working with BIPOC, LGBTQIA, differently abled, unhoused, and justice-involved communities, and places equity and inclusion at the center of their work.
