      Suncor is actively seeking a Director, Operational Excellence. As an integral leader in our Operations Improvement & Support Services team, you will pride yourself on continuously improving standards and processes. In this role, you'll offer strategic direction and leadership to delivering consistent, repeatable, safe results.       Minimum Requirements:

      • An Engineering Degree
      • At least five years of direct relevant experience, including progressive leadership roles
      • Broad process-based experience in designing and implementing global management systems
      • Expertise in large scale transformation efforts related to the implementation of a process-based management system
      • Expertise in training and coaching sites in a process-based management system
      • Solid knowledge of risk management frameworks and control strategies
      • Strategic approach to optimize, integrate, and design processes and supporting systems
      • Understanding of the external business environment, impact to processes/systems, and best practices
      • Experienced in direct and indirect leadership of senior professionals and technical experts
      • Knowledge of Human and Organizational Performance Philosophy

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide leadership and direction on understanding and application of our Operational Excellence Management Systems (OEMS) to relevant stakeholders (council members, forums, senior leaders, and practitioners)
      • Lead Suncor’s OEMS Network
      • Define scope and competency requirements of OEMS roles including executive roles and practitioners
      • Engage and train leaders in the requirements of the OEMS and their roles in implementation and sustainment
      • Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of implementation and feedback on learnings
      • Recommend improvement and sustainment strategies based on external best practices and lessons learned
      • Drive a safety culture consistent with Human and Organizational Performance philosophy

      • Hours of work: You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre

      • Salary: $220,000 - $270,000 CAD annually (to be negotiated)
