Partners with organization to prioritize and deliver strategic complex deliverables to drive the Medical Affairs business initiatives
Leads the project management for implementations of critical Medical Affairs initiatives to drive successful execution
Communicates the project status, deliverables, risks and mitigation plans for Global Medical Affairs Medical workstreams to key stakeholders including the CMAO LT and the Medical Affairs organization to allow for a holistic picture of key initiatives
Develops and leads tracking of performance / activity measurements (metrics) as appropriate
Support assigned Transformation & Operational Excellence activities/initiatives including development and monitoring of project and program plans and tracking of milestones
Routinely identifies, raises/shares, and implements best practices; ensuring consistency in overarching processes and systems, where needed; and developing partnerships with key colleagues in other functional areas to ensure ongoing alignment and efficiency.
Drives implementation of appropriate SOP’s, business processes, etc.
Collaborate and align with key internal stakeholders and other Medical Excellence / Operations colleagues for consistency and alignment as appropriate
Ensure compliance to Pfizer policies and standards and local laws and regulations
Drive Project Execution and Resource Allocation
In partnership with the Medical Systems and Operations Lead, forecast and ensure appropriate allocation of PM resources/skills
to effectively support the delivery of the portfolio
Ensure project deliverables are aligned with investment and optimization of priorities and goals, and project value is optimized
Manage information and communications
Bachelor’s degree, Advanced Degree is desirable, in one of the disciplines relating to drug development or business.
10+ years with bachelor’s degree; 8+ years with master’s degree; 6+ years with terminal degree.
Deep expertise in project management, portfolio management, drug development, and/or pharmaceutical discipline
Broad knowledge of project management methodologies, principles, best practices, supporting systems, and tools
Strong technical experience in a discipline associated with Project Management
Demonstrated success in negotiating in an environment of a highly matrix-based organization
Experience as Line manager/supervisor
Strong track record meeting personal and team goals
Proven record of implementing project and portfolio management practices and process improvements
Successful track record and experience in budgetary management and fiscal awareness.
Reports to Operational Project Management Lead
Key Unit team relationships include: Platform Vertical colleagues, Medical Systems and Operations sub vertical leads, Digital, CMO Transformation and Delivery Team and Operational Excellence Lead.
Key external-to-Medical Affairs relationships include: Finance, CMO Transformation and Delivery, Digital, and other enabling functions to ensure full integration with Pfizer community and access to best practices.
The Director Operations Project Manager role is an integral member of the Medical Systems and Operations Team within Transformation & Operational Excellence platform of Medical Affairs. The Director, Operations Project Manager is a leader in the development and implementation of critical organizational initiatives that impact Medical Affairs stakeholders and markets. The Director, Operations Project Manager combines organizational capabilities, stakeholder, and project management excellence, while understanding Transformation & Operational Excellence strategic priorities, with the goal of flawless execution of the plans.
The Director, Operations Project Manager is an integral part of a working environment where colleagues understand and exhibit customer-focused medical professionalism with honor and integrity. The role reports to the Operational Project Management Team Lead. The Director, Operations Project Manager will partner and collaborate with all colleagues from across Global Medical Affairs including those within Medical Systems and Operations, the CMAO LT Office, the CMO Office, the MEI platform and Category & Regional Medical Affairs.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $269,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
