Lead the operations planning and execution of region-wide network events such as the D.C. alumni induction ceremony, an annual educator appreciation event, and bi-monthly alumni networking events, and our annual holiday party.
Manage local partnerships programs aligned to our 2030 goal: Ignite Fellowship school sites and Green Fellowship cohort.
Serve as the primary regional alumni point of contact by engaging with alumni weekly (virtual or in-person) to share national or local career support, professional development opportunities, and regional involvement.
Serve as the primary regional point of contact for our LEE partnership initiatives.
Lead and manage the budget of our D.C. Region Alumni Facilitator Program & Alumni Grant Program.
Serve as the primary staff sponsor for regional alumni leadership boards, including The Bridge and Prism, this includes attending some events and supporting budget needs.
Set vision, direction, and execution of a strong marketing and communications plan to invest, engage, and inform the D.C. Region network on events and opportunities using effective and engaging digital communication strategies through use of platforms such as Squarespace, Instagram, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Canva, etc.
Create and disseminate monthly regional alumni newsletters using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Demonstrate strong alignment to core values, commitment to DEI and anti-racist leadership, and cultivating inclusive, high-performing results as a regional team member.
Provide in-person operational support to region-specific anchor moments for corps member initiatives and events such as Pre-Service/Practicum and in-person Summits.
Full participation in national team activities, including annual meetings, selection, national DEI training, and other required events and activities.
Full participation in regional team activities, staff meetings, development events, functional team meetings and retreats, and Pre-Service.
Full participation in functional team activities such as manager/direct report check-ins and program team meetings.
4+ years of work experience
Former event/operations planning experience required
Strong project management skills for multiple projects
Former teaching experience required
Bachelor’s degree required. Masters Degree in education or a related field preferred
Previous experience on Teach For America staff preferred
Teach For America alumni preferred
Frequent travel to school and community meetings.
This role requires attendance at evening meetings, professional development, and/or regional events several times quarterly.
This Director may travel independently to multiple school sites throughout the day. These may be significant distances from one another and must be able to navigate school facilities that may or may not be ADA-compliant.
Ability to travel independently to multiple locations for work during program event-planning and execution (including Pre-Service) that may be significant distances from one another and store/bring items to those locations.

THE ROLE
The Director, Alumni and Partnerships role is critical to helping strengthen our alumni impact in the D.C. Region by understanding who our alumni are and where they are in their career journeys. Additionally, this role involves managing key initiatives related to innovative and unique programming in the D.C. Region, i.e., Ignite Fellowship. This is vital to ensure that TFA National and D.C. Region Alumni and Partnerships team can develop alumni capabilities, meet their needs in alignment with our mission, and ultimately maximize their impact in building equitable communities in service of our 2030 goal.
This role provides a unique opportunity for an individual contributor with strong skills in project management, relationship-building, event-planning, communications, and partnership management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary range for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
C:$87,700.00 - $131,300.00
