Work with different departments and adjacent businesses to operationalize programs and understand enterprise priorities and focus areas
Participate in cross-functional meetings, to provide pharmacy operations perspective and guidance
Lead in designing framework for short and longer-term strategies for pharmacy operations and dispensary workflow
Develop programs to continue to drive pharmacy business and optimize pharmacy performance
Lead the review and day to day decision making on pharmacy and clinic layouts
Involvement in developing future designs and optimizing pharmacy structure
Work with Design & Construction stakeholders to ensure Pharmacy layouts are optimized to meet the needs of the business
Support growth projects related to the future of pharmacy practice at Shoppers Drug Mart
Provide Operational guidance on programs and initiatives working with Central Pharmacy Services, Enterprise Operations Development & Systems, Pharmacy Services, Health & Wellness, Procurement, Supply Chain, Merchandising, National Operations, Professional Affairs and Marketing
Drive execution of programs and performance culture in collaboration with field Operators
Ability to measure, perform detailed analysis of pharmacy performance and effectively communicate results to various stakeholders within Central Office, regional field resources and store teams.
Work with Central Office stakeholders to ensure operational excellence is adhered to with the introduction of new and updated initiatives that meet pharmacy workflow standards
Responsible for the development and initiatives to continue to drive pharmacy business
Act as a liaison with other departments representing national pharmacy operations, ensuring that pharmacy performance metrics are adhered to, and pharmacy performance is communicated.
Lead the development and review of content for the weekly national pharmacy operations update, content for field resources on the bi-weekly national operations call, quarterly meetings (VP and Peers), and national meetings.
Lead the monitoring and analysis of performance strategies to identify areas of opportunity, respond with action plans, ensure maximum competitiveness, and meet or exceed financial targets.
Responsible for monitoring individual store compliance with pharmacy standards through analysis of pharmacy reports, and follow-up with District Managers and Pharmacy Operations Specialists on non-compliant stores.
Experience greater than five years but less than or equal to ten years pharmaceutical/retail operations, business, marketing or equivalent experience.
Being a Licensed Pharmacist - Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy / Part A, in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) or other Canadian College body
Degree in Pharmacy (B.Sc. Pharmacy, M.Pharm, Pharm.D., etc)
Must be available to travel across Canada
Minimum of 5 – 7 years SDM pharmacy experience.
Solid background knowledge of future pharmacy practice and initiatives.
Experience with expanded scope of pharmacy practice
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and training skills, combined with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, are essential.
Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
30% Travel Required

Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Pharmacy Operations Strategy & Innovation, the Director, Pharmacy Operations is responsible for supporting day to day Pharmacy operations and the implementation of Pharmacy Care Clinics across the country. Focused on our core initiatives, this role will work to optimize pharmacy performance and workload planning from an operational pharmacy perspective. This role also leads the Pharmacy Care Clinic portfolio, overseeing construction project management, store selection, and design. This role supports Pharmacy Operations Specialists and is a significant liaison between Central Office departments, store teams and external stakeholders.
